Nick Cave & the Bad Seeds, etc.

Nick is 64 now after all. Unless you're Iggy Pop, hard to maintain the angry young man thing at that age. & if he would've continued on the path he was on, he probably wouldn't still be with us. I saw the Bad Seeds when by a lot of accounts they were at their most debauched (the Lollapalooza tour where they played the main stage in daylight before Beastie Boys & Smashing Pumpkins, etc). There's pretty much no way they could've kept on that path & survived. I'm glad Nick has grown & evolved. Although it's different than the old days, he's doing some of his best work now. I for one am happy to follow the journey wherever it goes. Nick's Red Hand Files show was the last one I saw before COVID hit & that was just him by himself. Sure he had lyrics & music on hand but a lot of it was spontaneous. He went all the way back to Boys Next Door on that show & it was spectacular. Kind of going off topic but I have this increasing feeling that rock in general is on life support. Good chance Nick is leading us to the next place musically. At least for some of us.
