That'd be the attic space which is pretty large. That's going to have to wait. But it'll be another adventure. Getting so much from the building supplies store that they give us a discount now
Just had the damp in the basement measured as I want to start on the floors now. Before I dug the massive trench & did the insulation, it was 15%. & that was in the summer too. Today, and this is after a week of almost constant rain, it is measuring at 3.5%. 6% was the goal as it's considered normal.

Looks like your dry sense of humor did the trick!!! But seriously, that is impressive.
Up to 30% of the energy used to heat goes out the ceiling apparently. So laying 10cm thick Rockwool sheets to keep all that wasted heat in on the first floor. Come the spring, that'll all go into the roof once I've ripped out all the plaster board & old insulation (if there is any) & the attic floor should be resurfaced with a different type of insulation & boards that can bear weight.
Pleased. The heat pump just had it's annual service & the current COP value indicates that it's producing 5x more energy than it's using. Seems it was a really smart move going that route. The energy bills have been a third of what they were at the old flat for a house 4x the size which is quite mind blowing. I would highly recommend anyone considering a new heating system to look into heat pumps.
