That's 2 cubic metres (just over 1.6 tonnes). Going to be putting a small concrete border around it before putting the rest of the gravel in just to make it look tidier. But, effectively, the damp proofing is functionally done.
Just dawned on me that we've actually been living here for four months now. Feels like a heck of a lot longer what with all the work before it was habitable. Time to get to work on that darts room in the basement......

That’s awesome, steve! Does it feel like your home yet?

Very much so. Everything that's been done has put a whole new look on it. After spending the best part of a year coming and going to do all sorts of stuff before moving in I got to feel at home pretty much from day one
Come here and fix my basement now. Amazing truly what you have accomplished.
It's not so hard to do once you know what materials you need. A bit of practice helps too. You're never going to get it perfectly smooth straight away but it'll come soon enough.
Plastering in the garage is practically done. No more massive holes where the old pipes were & all the new leccy conduits & stuff is all nicely covered.
Next big adventure will be to fix the stairs leading down to the garage/ basement. Some moron used whatever they had lying around to try to make them reasonably stair-like. This mainly consisted of shiatty cement & even lumps of wood. All of which I had to chisel off so as to be able to pour the correct cement
There'll be a lot of fiddling with the laser spirit level & making up form work for each stair. Still, I decided to call it a day earlier after whacking my finger with a 5kg club hammer
The orbital sander fell apart on its first outing. Well, it has a velcro layer on the sanding plate that sticks to velcro-backed sanding sheets & the first time I wanted to change the paper, the velcro layer peeled straight off the sanding plate. Sent it back & it came back from the supplier yesterday. So I set about some doors in the basement with no mishaps at all

Except, of course, for turning into the Hulk
So this one is for you Steve, well earned ! Musically far from TC, but hope you'll enjoy it anyway. Lyrics are dead funny (to my taste anyway)
