This is the state of play as of today. You can compare it to the previous tour vid to see exactly what was ripped out (pretty much everything really). The gardens are still a bit of a mess and the attic is a future project so I didn't go up there today.
Huge congratulations, steve! You made a beautiful house with your own hands, which I sincerely admire. May it be the happiest place on Earth for you.
I love the little cat tree for Iggy in the living room. Like a special seat to watch telly for her
But I don't see And I don't feel But tightly hold up silently My hands before my fading eyes And in my eyes Your smile
I mistook stars reflected in a pond at night for those in the sky.

The new place looks amazing Steve! You really did a fantastic job. Congrats!
Had a bit of a flood last night in the garage & basement after a torrential downpour. The drain outside the garage door got all covered in leaves & assorted muck & the little gully there overflowed into the the garage & two of the basement rooms themselves so spent a couple of hours baling water out. Thankfully, only lost a few cardboard boxes. Everything else seems to be okay. If a little wet. But wading around in ankle-deep water in the middle of the night wasn't much fun.

That sucks, steve. I’m glad the damage wasn’t worse but yes, nobody wants to bail out. We’ve been having the same problems with the drains outside our building.

Thanks folks. There are drainage gullies/ ditches at the top of a steep driveway down to the garage that direct water past the house. They were full of silt & sand & gravel from all the cement & raw material deliveries we've had over the past few months. Those are now cleared out so the water doesn't overflow & come straight down the slope and into the drain by the garage door.
There's also like a surge gulley around the drain itself that works a bit like a flood measure to manage the amount of water that drains away so the drain isn't overwhelmed. Don't know the technical term for that buy you get the jist.. That was full of the silt that had washed down the slope so I cleaned that out too.
It's quite windy today so the basement windows & garage doors are all open & it's drying quite quickly thankfully. It looked way better than I expected this morning.
On the plus side, I checked the attic & the roof appears to be in perfect working order. Not even a drop of water up there
Remember those old oak stairs we had ripped out & replaced? Well we managed to re-purpose a few of the less damaged ones to make a shelf for the media wall & a small floating shelf to go above the TV
