For months the birds in that area, and especially the little Nuthatch you see in the photo, have been flying really close to me. In my mind, they would sort of follow me by flopping around from tree to tree while singing and chirping away, in an attempt to gain my attention. But since I’m always busy (and alone)with Bingo while I’m on these walks, I’ve never paid much attention to them. Yesterday was different though as my sister came along with me on the walk. When we arrived at the area where the birds tend to congregate, I stuck out my hand (my sister was walking the dog) and within a few seconds, the Nuthatch had landed on me. Afterward, another three birds landed on me, another Nuthatch and two chickadees. I think it’s safe to say that people must feed these little birds, otherwise I have no idea why wild birds would be so willing to interact with a human so closely.

I also sat on a bench at City Hall for a while people watching and listening to various protests. My feet are covered in blisters from walking so much in new shoes.
During my spare time I sit outside women's shoe shops selling Elasoplasts. I'm rich beyond my wildest dreams
sandgrounder - the only train that travels on those tracks is a little steam engine and it only operates during the summer months. So there was no possibility of a thud squishy squish incident.
