I brought the spawn to school yesterday on the subway and then proceeded to walk around in Manhattan a bit drinking my coffee.
Walked through the FiDi to Ground Zero. I always cry when I go there. There is such a heavy energy, I feel. Had a lovely talk with a British tourist. Saw some window washers waaaaay up on two faces of the Freedom Tower (I always look up to find window washers b/c I admire them).
Realized I had to find a public restroom before getting back on the subway. Went to the Oculus to accomplish that. I was sad to learn the Oculus is basically the world's most gorgeous... shopping mall.
gongoro73 I've taken up photography, bought an old Sony Alpha A58, quickly traded it in for an A77 and then just as quickly traded that in for a Full Frame Mirrorless Sony Alpha A7RIII, the photos are glorious - the colours it captures are amazing. I have loads to learn but I have finally stopped relying on the "Auto" settings.

That’s fantastic news. Taking pictures in a traditional, manual way is so rewarding. Keep posting them!
gongoro73 , we're in a great location for photography, we live in old converted theatre on a causeway poking out into an estuary, three sides of the property are surrounded by water - there are multiple jet skiers, wind surfers, wind surfers, yachts, the lifeboat station in next door. There a couple of parks five minutes away, one has trees and loads of squirrels, the other has a fish pond, flowers and "insect hotels". Oh, and loads of seagulls, plus the Helicopter Ambulance regularly practises on the beach, it lands, puts someone a stretcher and takes off, or, the medic is lowered to the ground from the helicopter, perfect photo opportunities. The sunsets are spectacular in the summer, the one I posted is from June, I also have some videos of sunsets accompanied by the sound of the waves breaking underneath the stars ......
