Randomly ended up on the UWS side of Manhattan the other day to run an errand and decided to take a walk in Central Park. Ended up in the Ramble (the area where good old Amy Cooper threatened the Black birdwatcher).
It was a very cold, grey winter day. Squirrels were busy carrying armloads of leaves up into trees to make nests. I came across a decorated tree and took a look to see what it was. It was a lovely tribute to deceased pets! Mostly cats and dogs, but I did spot a bunny and a turtle. I was most impressed nobody had messed with it. Somebody had left an ancient toy in a plastic bag that belonged to their first dog with a note offering it to someone else's pet.
I could have patted this pretty girl had I not whipped out my camera. As cute as it is, i’m bothered by how tame some of the wildlife at my favourite park has become.
