Hope my first post can include a question right away ;-) What Cure song do you think Perry is really making THE difference in the song?
In terms of composition, at least "Trust" and "This is a lie", as he wrote them, as far as I know.
In terms of style of playing, I think he has less of a distinct, recognizable sound than other members of the band, but he's very versatile and fits The Cure sound very well. So I don't think there's a song where he particularly stands out.
The composition of 'Endsong' is kinda similar to 'Trust' with the gradual introduction of more instruments during the song. Maybe Perry was brought back to help to develop the tracks?
I saw Perry five time at this tour and he looks sick. There is another possibility. Robert and the band are helping Perry...........
He certainly looks not very good, unfortunately. But who knows… hope he is fine.
He doesn't appear to be in a good place. He actually walked off stage during FTEOTDGS in Hamburg for a few minutes and I hate to say that I couldn't hear the difference. However, he did play some lead parts on the guitar on some other tracks (can't remember which ones now) and it sounded really good.
I must say In Vienna and Prague Perry looked better. He played in more songs and he was more inside music....... Maybe The Cure are really the cure.......

Wonderful news.
And yeah, remember, they were the cure of the eighties…
I hate to say it but can anyone actually hear the difference with Perry there? I'm not sure what contribution he is actually making. If I didn't know I would swear it was the same 5 piece band we've had for the however-many years now....

Yes. I totally hear it. It's a richer, fuller sounds. Nothing wrong with a 5 piece either but that extra musician does make a different sound.
