Hello & welcome to the forum. Also, this is primarily an English speaking forum. There is a google translate option at the top left if it's any help
i think Robert fired Perry back in 2005 and maybe, maybe he just felt it was time to put the record straight just a little before the end. No, Roger doesn't need help on stage for an additional keyboard player that is for sure.Neither Reeves needs someone to fil any gap,so is it our Bob a little tired and old who might need help on stage? Me sayin'. Or might someone will step out for a while during the Tour and they just brought him earlier to be on the right mood.Don't forget they will announce a US dates shortly after the EU ones. And Perry can play some keyboard notes, guitar and...bass as well or be a roadie as once he was (joking with this one). The perfect replacement if you ask me,a true CURE member through the years. Still believe he was the one who looked like Edward Scissorhands back in the day.
Especially 1992
Love you Teddy, happy you are back even if it will be just for a while.
I remember at the time of the firings, someone posted something pretty terrible to Roger (but not to Perry), along the lines of "How do I apply for your job?" to which he replied quite understandably angrily something like "email at getf*cked@f*ckoff.com", or something like that.
What an awful thing to do.
Now we just need Pearl back in the band as a 7-piece ha ha...
It be a cold day on the equator before Pearl comes back. Don't get your hopes up on that one but you never know. He is still dad to Robert's nieces and nephews. And in regards to Roger getting angry about that one you said TOTALLY understandable on that. Great response too.

This thread has gone a little of track. Perry wasn't just brought back for musical reasons it was also to balance out the dynamics of the group off-stage.
* it's far easier to share a pizza between 6 rather than 5 people * they avoid that annoying surcharge of single occupancy rates at hotels * Jason doesn't always have to sit next to Roger on the tour bus. * By using Simon as ballast, Reeves can now sleep in the top bunk without fear of it toppling over

Gee I never thought of any of this. And as long as they don't put pineapple on their pizza we're good. I wonder if any of them like that?

oh God, no. As much as I love The Cure thru the ages with Porl's contributions, the way he played on 4Cure was not to my liking at all. Yes, I get that he was limited to playing keyboard parts on a guitar with probably the world's biggest effects pedalboard (man that thing was amazing), but yuck, those four years of shows were the biggest letdowns for me.
If you have a lead on Brisbane 21 August 1992 - CT version, for the love of Bob, let me know. Please!

Yeah, I remember seeing them in London during that tour. The best part was the old days encore (from 3IB/BDC catalogue). Although Lullaby with no keyboards was interesting.
Hope my first post can include a question right away ;-) What Cure song do you think Perry is really making THE difference in the song?
In terms of composition, at least "Trust" and "This is a lie", as he wrote them, as far as I know.
In terms of style of playing, I think he has less of a distinct, recognizable sound than other members of the band, but he's very versatile and fits The Cure sound very well. So I don't think there's a song where he particularly stands out.
can anyone confirm which guitars Perry uses on stage during those last dates? or even get some images once being in one of the next few shows?
One is a Fender Jazzmaster, the other yellow one looks like a Gibson Special or of some sort. Looks like it's got P90s in it, so something like this but left-handed
