The Cure Songs That Don't Work Live

No, it made sense to put that on the album instead of The Exploding Boy (etc.)

screw is amazing, both live and on album, gallup is king

Screw's off The Head On The Door album, every song on it is great, they were incapable of putting out a bad song during that period (1980-1992)

It took till 1996 WMS for the first time that every song wasn't killer.

The following 2000 Bloodflowers put them back on top form.

This is just a question of taste anyway...world war is also not the best song they've done.

Disintegration, as much as I love it, sounds much better on record. Especially the more recent live versions lack all the power and dynamics of the studio version. And it bugs e that Robert can never get the lyrics right.

Love Cats is another one that doesn't really work live.

On the other hand, I prefer the live version of Charlotte Sometimes, especially from The Top tour and the 1986 RAH version is also great.

There aren't many Cure songs that make me cringe but Screw is one of them.

I was going to say Charlotte doesn't work very well live. But it does, it just doesn't sound much like the studio version. Though I haven't heard the Sydney one either.
