I think "Never Enough" is mostly a sludgy unfocused mess in pretty much all live versions, possibly excepting the summer 1990 ones. Agree on slow Primary as well.
Screw's off The Head On The Door album, every song on it is great, they were incapable of putting out a bad song during that period (1980-1992)
It took till 1996 WMS for the first time that every song wasn't killer.
The following 2000 Bloodflowers put them back on top form.
I agree almost completely, except about Bloodflowers: which is, for me, better than WMS but worse than any album before WMS (yes, including The Top and 3 Imaginary Boys).
I like Bloodflowers overall, but I think it's not the Cure at top form. For me it's the Cure trying to be the Cure at top form, but something is missing.
It actually took me years to get around to liking it. For a long time I considered it a disappointment, in a different way than WMS: with WMS they messed around, with Bloodflowers they seemed to want to go back to classic Cure sound, but in a bit of a contrived way.
That whole linking it back to Pornography and Disintegration didn't help either, in my opinion.
It's grown on me since then, though and it is certainly much better than the two which followed.
It hurts me to say it ... Disintegration is one of my favorite songs but live ... it doesn't work ...
During the Prayer tour I find they played it always much too fast and it looses the mood. I also have a terrible souvenir of the 2008 tour where Porl didn't even play his chorus/melody (and also a bit too fast for me).
Never find back in concerts the mood of the original studio version ...

The version on Entreat is oh so good though
Yeah entreat version of disintegration is perfect...fast, intense, correct melody. The last 20 years sluggish n drags
