Nice to see Mercedes qualify 2 & 3 in Australia (the race I have to watch on DVR). If Verstappen has some sort of issue could be an interesting race especially if it rains.
Melbourne has to be one of the most boring "races" so far this season. How the Red Bull can streak to an 11 second lead is slightly questionable unless second place spun off causing third place to slow down massively. 2 or 3 seconds is believable, but 11? That seems fishy to me. Oh & the race director seems to be quite fond of red flagging the thing although I can't blame him. If this race were a horse it would have been taken outside & shot by now

The end was a total cluster. I don't get how no one knows the rules. There's a debate about everything. Maybe they should put out a comic book of the rules so these idiots have pictures to follow. If memory serves there's a 2-3 week gap now. Toto Wolff promises big changes to the Mercedes cars. They should be looking at the DRS spoilers. Clearly Red Bull has figured out something with that system. & Ferrari is still a clown show. Firing Mateo didn't solve anything. I recoreded the race & watched when I got up. They used just about the whole 3 hour time slot. Usually the races are done in about 2 hours which is one of the things I like about F1 vs Nascar. Put on a NASCAR race & say goodbye to a whole afternoon. Hope things tighten up in F1. The whole season is going to be pretty boring if Verstappen is going to run away with every race.

We kind of enjoyed the race, and actually thought it was the most entertaining so far this season. The competitiveness of the Mercedes and Aston Martin, and really that top half of the field was fun. Different strokes, I suppose.

I thought this was a really interesting video trying to explain RB's DRS v. the rest of the pack. It actually gave me a bit of pause and almost made me jump off the "RB is cheating" bandwagon, but I honestly hate Verstappen too much to ever do that! 😜
PS: the one potentially exciting part didn't happen. When the people stormed the pits with Ocon still having to pit. It could've been like the scene in Death Race 2000 when the nurses & doctors put the senior citizens out on the road so their driver could get more points.
de Vries really is useless isn't he? I'm quite enjoying seeing him fail over & over after watching him being such a smug mouth on a stick in Drive To Survive.
