Took advantage of the glorious weather to potter in the garden. Have moved a colombine & lavender (which looked a little forlorn) & hope to revive them a bit. The hydrangea's in the pot as a temporary measure so it can be moved while we renew the front fence. Then it can go in the ground proper.
Just spent a few hours in the front garden. Found seven cocktail tomato plants presumably coming from fruit that fell off last year's. So they've all been relocated & fed. Mowed the lawn (& the neighbour's lawn) & I am so glad I have some factor 50 in the house. It's roasting outside
My magnolia tree is growing like a weed since I cleared the underside of each leaf of some scale insects a couple of months ago and started giving it more water. The number of leaves has almost doubled in three weeks. Since I started it from seed it feels almost as cool as growing a person and seeing it thrive.

I have a magnolia tree in the garden that I plan to get rid of. Nice when it flowers though. I like your geraniums. I have a load of those on the balcony the same colour
I rescued these snapdragons from another part of the garden (by the magnolia tree i am going to dig up) & I thought they would die. But this is what they look like today
Also got quite a lot of tomatoes on the go. There are more down in the garden.
The bushy ones are apparently black tomatoes and I am curious to see them when they're ripe.
I live in Normandy near Juno Beach. So knitted poppies pour Remanbrance in my hanging garden.
What a beautiful arrangement!
in Flanders fields the poppies blow Between the crosses, row on row, That mark our place; and in the sky The larks, still bravely singing, fly Scarce heard amid the guns below.
We are the Dead. Short days ago We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow, Loved and were loved, and now we lie, In Flanders fields.
Take up our quarrel with the foe: To you from failing hands we throw The torch; be yours to hold it high. If ye break faith with us who die We shall not sleep, though poppies grow In Flanders fields.
