Most of my indoor plants are outside taking a sun bath. My dream of living in a jungle has nearly come to fruition.
i’d like to do a lot of repotting today since several plants have outgrown their homes. But I need the biggest bag of soil I can buy which is always an ordeal without a car. I bought a giant terracotta pot last weekend for my magnolia seedling.

We have an upstairs balcony which we really haven't "used" yet. I'm hoping to have a small jungle up there shortly
Today I removed the little apricot tree from the front garden. It wasn't in the best of health & was smack bang in the middle of the lawn for some unknown reason. Bit sad to have to say farewell to a tree, but it was just in the way really. Had to use a pick axe to get to the roots. Monday I will start sawing big chunks off the fig tree which is threatening to take over the garden if I don't do something with it soon.

Aw, that’s too bad. My grandma had an apricot tree and would make jam. She used to gross me out by eating the fruit off the tree even when there were some tiny worms/larva on some of the fruit.
I have a fig I just repotted. If it gets much bigger I’m not sure what to do with it.
Figs are okay if you keep them under control. Thing with this one is the old dear who lived here before was unable to do that & anything her family did in the house & garden was really badly done. So the tree has been left to its own devices for decades. To get some semblance of order it needs to be cut right back to encourage new shoots on the branches which can then be pinched out to begin to get some sort of shape. When it has leaves on it it doesn't look so bad. But right now, without foliage, it's a big mess. Never tried growing one in a pot, but I have read stuff about potted ones & they all say the same thing. Keep it under control. Prune & pinch stuff out regularly. They grow so quickly &, before you know it, they become unmanageable if you don't keep on top of it.
Hopefully this will force growth of the new shoots which should be much more manageable. I'd like to train it into a sort of fan shape if possible. As for the apricot tree, Akos from next door took it to his plot of land in a nearby village where he distills his palinka & planted it on the off chance it'll take on a new lease of life.
Earlier this week I cut down the lilac trees at the front of the garden. Ideally they should be just bushed, but the old dear who lived here let them grow into full on trees and the roots were popping up everywhere on the flower bed ready to grow into new lilacs. So they had to go. Today I tried to remove the root from the first one. Four hours with a pick axe & a shovel (& sometimes a crow bar) & I still can't get the bl00dy thing out of the ground.
