I had a nice long talk w/ my mentor on the phone yesterday in my green space. It felt like a fall day.
The magnolia seedling has had an amazing growth spurt since I repotted it. It’s going to need a bigger house. I think I should probably still bring it inside this second winter.
For what are they destined? Have you ever used any of your chilis to infuse alcohol?
I have used them to spice up palinka before. These will be dried & ground. I have hundreds of the things in the freezer to use up anyway & I could do with some more ground hot chilli.
Not my garden, but next door invited me for a palinka & then asked if I could help him pick his apples that he's going to make palinka with. Got about 30 or 40kilos for his project & he gave me these
Top tip. Don't try to go up a ladder or climb an apple tree after 2 or 3 palinkas

Ok, dumb question, what does Palinka taste like? Apple cider? Fruity Brandy? And does everyone in Hungary make their own?

It is a fruit brandy. You are allowed by law to make it at home & even distil a limited quantity, but mostly people will take the fermented mash to a licensed distiller. Not everyone makes their own, but many will take advantage of having lots of fruit to be able to make a load of it.

Lots more chillies on the string now with plenty more still to come.
I’ve brought the balcony plants in for the summer. I like that someone is now peeking out from behind the bird-of-paradise (would that it would ever bloom). I like that our room now resembles the part in Where the Wild Things Are where Max’s room turns into a forest.

I wish I could have more plants indoors. But Iggy either eats them or digs them up
^^^^^ Oh, steve, Murray isn't allowed in there unless she's sleeping on the bed. Thanks to lioness, I now understand the palm is <some-nightmarishly-long-plant-with-c's-and-x's-in-its-name>, which was apparently the cause of a lot of GI-related unpleasantness for her (an for us, by association and thumbs).
When I close my office this winter I'll be bringing home 6 plants, 2 of which are ginormous (a philodendron and a fig). I haven't quite figured it all out yet, but I'm in love with all of them...

Nice to have such a garden in the apartment. Harder to keep a cat out of this
It seems quite ironic that today I thought about throwing away my biggest plant. It looks bad and is most likely sick.
But I don't see And I don't feel But tightly hold up silently My hands before my fading eyes And in my eyes Your smile
I mistook stars reflected in a pond at night for those in the sky.

Nooooooo! I’m really sorry to hear that. I know how it is to get attached to plants. They’re a lot like pets.
Have you tried using an image search to help diagnose it?
