Wow! Yummy! They look exactly as the light cherries my grandma had in her garden. They were delicious. I loved them and have never managed to get such tasty ones since those days.
The only fruits which were more delicious were my grandma's dark cherries. Huge and almost black, incredibly sweet and juicy. My clothes were always stained with this juice. Lovely memories from my childhood...
Anyway, a good way to preserve cherries is to make a compote from them, a stewed fruit. Mmmm...
I have exactly the same memories. My grandparents had big tree in their garden in Krkonoše mountains. I remember all those cherry cakes (among many others, my grandma was a great baker and made a lot of typical czech cakes, buns etc.). And as a child I was learning to climb trees on that cherry tree 😀 We had a full basement of that compote 👍
Apparently all our mountain cherries were fabulous. My grandma's garden was in Owl Mountains, 15 km from Broumov give or take. And there were far too many jars with the compote to fit into the basement
But I don't see And I don't feel But tightly hold up silently My hands before my fading eyes And in my eyes Your smile
I mistook stars reflected in a pond at night for those in the sky.
I just discovered we have wild strawberries growing down each side of the drive way down to the garage. Was going to yank them out as I thought they were weeds. Going to try to transplant them somewhere because they taste wonderful
Our grapevine is nuts. That's just the one vine from our back garden & it covers the neighbour's driveway like a canopy. It's a win win really. We don't eat that many grapes & he makes wine & palinka from them. Plus it's nice to look at.
I've tried googling this to no avail. The lower leaves on one main branch on my fig tree look a bit sorry for themselves. However, if you look higher up on the same main branch, the leaves look perfectly okay. Rest of the tree also looks perfect. It's just the one section. Anyone have any experience of this sort of thing?
Have you checked for any bugs on the underside of the leaves?
Yep. No bugs at all. It's weird that it's just on random branches
How does it look where the branch meets the larger branch? Any blemishes/weird spots on the bark or deep cuts? I’m sure you’ve already checked for that…

It might be this
Looks like I need to do some investigation as to what this might be. Odd that only a few branches seem affected though

Someone has pruned some of the smaller branches but haven't done it with a clean cut. May have caused stress on the other branches

I'm going to start a business as a distance arborist. First one's free.
