Defeated. Went to the doctor yesterday & he found I have skin cancer. Growth on my leg that is going to have to be cut out. I'm going to quit going to doctors.
So sorry to hear this, chuckrh. It will happen to many of us as we get older and live longer. Mr. K had a spot cut out of his nose in his 40's. You gots to wear the sunscreen, reapply every two hours, and cover up. Mohs surgery? It will be OK.
It's not melanoma, right? Please keep going to dr.'s because if you hadn't you wouldn't know you had this...

Very sorry to hear. I hope you get through this as best as possible.
Doing much Better. For the last 10 or more years been battling a horrible knee.. for the last 5 months i couldn't even sit up longer than 30 minutes. Finally I qualified to get it replaced. (They won't do it unless you are a certain age here) So on march 5th i am now part way of fulfilling my dream to become a robot. Haha. I Have a new left knee. The pain is indescribable. The worst pain I've ever felt but it's not as bad as the day of surgery. In rehab for a week them hopefully back to old normal in a few months. Hope you are all doing well. Xo
Feel better soon and be a compliant patient. Thanks for letting us know how you are.

Going to doctors is bad for your health. Hope you feel Bette Chuck
Feel happy that as of last week I'm able to go back to dance class since stopping in November.
PSA: If you think there's something wrong with your health, please pursue it. After seeing many dr.'s who each looked at things solely through their specialist lens or gaslit me, I found one who actually listened to all my weird, diverse symptoms. I now have treatment for fibromyalgia since early January and feel a TON better. No more widespread pain, no needing to take naps all day, hair growing back, etc. And please share family health history with the next generation. If that had been done for me I'd have known two of my grandparents also had the condition.

Good to hear that you are on the mend & returning to dance to pursue one of your passions must be an amazing feeling. Excellent advice about pressing for a diagnosis & I would also recommend taking your partner/friend with you as they can ask questions from a different perspective.
My late father was adopted when he was very young as both of his parents had died so a full family history is difficult for me.

Thanks!
I've got a close friend of decades who is adopted and she's got lots of health concerns with little info to go on. Genetic testing can help a lot, but not for everything, yet. It does make it really hard, I would think.
Interesting idea about taking a partner into a medical appointment. It's not something I think I would necessarily want to do, but could depend on the situation... People are different - Vive la France!

So sorry you are feeling defeated, I know that feeling. When I was diagnosed with breast cancer I felt like my life was over – my mom died young of cancer. But the good thing is that they caught it and I had surgery and treatment and am still here today. So yes, it does suck, but hang in there – doctors are poor messengers but can be life savers.

Bionic robot knee! Hopefully you will be back to kicking butt in no time! Take care.
