Robert Smith, had dedicated Shake Dog Shake, to me, at the RAH on Saturday night, I didn't hear him say it, because I was sitting halfway back in the Box (my choice, so I could take some photo's) but the folks I was with, told me. I'm very honoured by that big time, and always will be. I met Robert after the show, for a quick chat, and it was like no time had passed between us at all.
Yep that's when he started talking to us, no, not in 1984!! I was talking to somebody on twitland and we said nobody had managed The Caterpillar or the drum solo leading into Shake Dog Shake as well as him ...
I've always really liked what Andy Anderson added to TC during his tenure with them. I really respect that he seems to be quite a versatile drummer, adept at many styles. He also sounds like a pretty down-to-earth guy these days.
Here's a 2010 interview with him from the French forum A Pink Dream. Some editing issues, probably due to translation, but a nice, quick read.

Jeanette Landray kind of reminds me of Grace Jones with her OTT facial expressions and overall mannerisms. Andy Anderson is playing the straight man (posturally speaking). Save

Just saw on Facebook that AA has announced he has cancer. No details other than the quote below.
“I learned on the 31st January, that I have the “Big C” hence the more and more tests, which is something I have been contemplating about this well before my recent term here in Hospital, because when one gets older, these illnesses are more likely to effect the older body, so at least I know where I stand now, so I’m cool with it. I’m Not getting into the Tech side of it, because to me, Cancer is Cancer, no mater where it hails from, at this time, because I don’t know the full ramifications of the Cancer.
My quote is : “If it’s time to go, then it’s time to go, and there’s nowt you can say, before that last encore”
So welcome to : Andy Anderson’s Positive Ville.
A place where Tears, Blubbering and Cancer tech speak, are Not Welcome only Positiveness. As a Musician I plan to give my Musical Equipment to those that can benefit using it. and to further their musical endeavours. Personal effects also, before the vultures start swarming. My Housing Association, will literally gut the Garden this is there policy, stupid and daft I know, but there you go, hopefully I can do a spot of gardening where I’m going, that reminds me, I consult brochure. I’ll distribute tools etc. possibly in a local Auction run buy close friends. At this point in time I’m keeping myself totally focused and positive by organising these events, as well as my Book, which is cool fun knowing that other people may if they wish benefit by what junk I’ve collected over the years.
More Medication, more Medical Checks, Consultations, but all worth the wait in the long run.”
If you have a lead on Brisbane 21 August 1992 - CT version, for the love of Bob, let me know. Please!

Saw on his FB page and it's just awful. I have two friends who have Cancer. My BF had a cancerous lesion removed from his neck. Thankfully our awesome ENT doc who I adore got it all. It's a horrid disgusting disease that took one of the best people in my life, my dad. Cure fans have been sending Andy our best wishes for sure and trying to keep his spirits up on his FB page. He is a positive person for sure!!
"Hi guy’s, I am and I have Terminal 4 Cancer, and their is no way of returning back from that, it’s totally covering the inside of my body, and I'm totally fine and aware of my situation I've gone for a no resuscitation, with that, I have a next of kin, in place and there is no way I would want them to be looking me as a vegetable, if I were to survived a resuscitation, because it may well involve the possibility of sustaining cracked ribs and Brain Damage, and I would hate to lay that on anyone. Chemotherapy and Radiotherapy will be discussed over the next few days, hopefully I’ll be able to get back to get to you in the next few days about the outcome, and please, No Boo, Hooing, here, just be positive, for me it’s just another life Experience and Hurdle, that one has to make yet another Choice in life, be cool, I most definitely am and positive about the situation , well that’s it for now, good folk, and thank you all for the well wishes I love them all, and are held very, very close to my heart dearly, and will stay with me for ever, any way, stay well yourselves and chat soon. Ax."
