Seeing as we are a caring bunch, it's high time that there was a thread set up specifically so that we can post up events and fundraisers that we are taking part in, with the aim of raising as much lovely £££s (and $$$s or even €€€s*) as possible to help support Good Causes.
Why? Coz it will a. give you a warm and fuzzy feeling and b. I'll beat you to a sticky puddle with a slipper if you don't cough up the cash. Got that?
So...
To start the fund-raising ball rolling, I am doing TWO charity events this month:
Firstly, I am taking part in the LIDBA Charity Bike Ride on Sunday the 9th June in honour of my pal Steve K who lost his fight with cancer in February of this year. The charity who will benefit from this is the Rosemary Foundation who - free of charge - provide palliative care for people with life threatening illnesses and also support for their carers and families.
The fund-raising page for this event can be found HERE.
(Yes, it's not got my name on the top, but I am listed in the blurb as one of the people taking part. It's kind of the 'team page' set up by the guy who organised it.)
Secondly, I am once again doing 'Race for Life' on Sunday the 30th June, raising money for Cancer Research UK.
I am fed up to the back teeth of my list of people I know dying from this HORRIBLE disease getting longer, so the more £££s, $$$s and €€€s* we can raise to help beat it, the better.
The fund-raising page for this event can be found HERE.
I am going in the same jockey costume as I wore last year because it was Steve K who came up with the idea and it therefore seems only right that I wear it again in his honour. I always do the Epsom 'Race for Life' which takes place on the famous race course, so it's appropriate that I wear horsey gear!!
* ...or any other currency that you may have lying around...
