Some of us like football, some us of us hate it. Some of us even think football is soccer, or played with a funny shaped ball. Maybe you like baseball, hockey, or rugby?
Whatever your chosen sport, if you follow a team, or sports person, who is it and why?
Do you follow your team a lot? What got you into it?
Who is your favourite player, or most famous? What was the best moment so far?
What is a notable or interesting fact you can share?
Why? My Grandma lived next to the ground and was a supporter. My Mum and Aunt also grew up in the area and also became supporters. When I was 15/16, I would be taken to visit my Grandma on Saturday's until I decided I wanted to know more about the roar of the crowd that would come from the ground when a goal was scored. My first game as a official fan was 1986. I have been a season ticket holder since then, and more recently a share-holder.
Do you follow your team a lot? I have been to nearly every home game since 1986. I have not seen them abroad as we don't have the luxury of playing in Europe (I wish!) but I have been to about 50 grounds around England.
Who is your favourite player, or most famous? During my time we have not been "famous". Laurie Cunningham played for us, and went on to Real Madrid and Manchester United.
What was the best moment so far? When we won promotion (twice) Scoring a last minute goal against Arsenal recently (in the Cup) was pretty fun too!
What is a notable or interesting fact you can share? - We were formed in 1881, making us the 2nd oldest club in London (behind Fulham) - The club badge is a Wyvern, not a dragon as most people assume
What else might be interesting? Owned by sports promotor Barry Hearn, who runs Matchroom Sport (who also manage Darts, Snooker, Pool, Tenpin bowling, golf and fishing). If you ever watched Snooker in the 80's, most players were in the "Matchroom Mob"

I actually like alot of teams. But I'll pick the one I've supported longest.
TEAM: Liverpool Football Club
SPORT: Football/soccer
WHY: Back in 1992 I was getting ready to attend my first The Cure concert. Whist getting dressed I put on the telly and there was a footie game on. Think it was Liverpool v. Aston Villa. Anyway, the Reds won and I decided to be a fan at that moment. So, why do I like LFC...I blame The Cure. If they didn't tour that year, I wouldn't have been up at that time and I would have missed the game, thus never knowing about the Reds.
FOLLOW: I try to. I really do. I follow their twitter feed, liked them on facebook, even signed up at their site. Watch all their games...when they're on. Damn cable company dropped the footie channel! Never been to a match. Hard to when they are across the pond.
PLAYER: Steven Gerrard, Jose Rena....I even remember Robbie Fowler. Oh hell, I like them all cos they all make up the Mighty Reds!
MOMENT: The 2005 UEFA Champion League and 2006 FA Cup. Both times we were trailing 3-0 at the half and both times we came back to win in penalty kicks.
FACT: Fenway Sports Group who owns LFC also owns The Boston Red Sox (MLB) and Roush Fenway Racing (NASCAR). Due to a contract deal with FSG, Miami Heat forward, Lebron James and his manager Maverick Carter own minority stakes in the club.
Team : Stoke City link Sport : football, allegedly!
Who are they? Currently lying 11th in the English Premier League but dropping like a stone due to recent bad form!
Why do I support them? That would be my father's fault as he supported them from being a child and passed this on to me.I attended my first game at the age of five in August 1977..a 1-0 win over Southampton and was hooked after that and attended games regularly until moving to Germany in 2003. Significantly the winning goal that evening was scored by one Garth Crooks, later to appear in this scene with RS of all people!
Do you follow your team a lot? Well,as I said previously I live in Germany now, but never ever miss a game through the wonders of TV and internet streaming, failing that radio coverage! I was also a mascot once
Who is your favourite player, or most famous? Most famous would probably be Sir Stanley Matthews but he's long in the past and Gordon Banks who was goalkeeper for England when they won their one and only world cup in 1966. Oh,and Michael Owen sits on the substitute bench doing nothing these days!
What was the best moment so far? This would have to be playing in the FA Cup final two years ago at Wembley,(although we lost!)it was a childhood dream to see this happen, I will never forget. Also, playing in Europe last year and getting to see my team playing in Valencia and Istanbul were amazing experiences.
What is a notable or interesting fact you can share? They are the second oldest English football league club, so one of the oldest in the world I guess, 150 years this year.
What else might be interesting? We are currently owned by Peter Coates owner of one of the biggest online betting companies bet365, so if you fancy an online bet go there, give my team your money
For I am not in England it is complicated a little bit more. But I am following English football with passion for decades (although I succeeded only to visit Anfield), and so I do have my favourite team over there - Manchester United. I fell in love with them pretty late: May 1991, Final of European Cup Winners Cup in Rotterdam, where the Red Devils surprised Barcelona 2:1. Sir Alex was there already for five years. It was his first international trophu. Mark Hughes scored brace, but another Welsh, that was and still is the main reason that I am into ManU was beside the pitch at that very moment. Managed to establish him self in the team already in next season, with only 18. Today, 22 years later, Ryan Giggs is still there. Best winger in the history of the game, IMO. Just today ManU beat Reading F.C. the team who's supporter among others is Simon Gallup and the title in the Premiership for this season is almost secured. I like to underline, that of all teams in England I hate Manchester City most.
I am much longer into German football. Because of local-patriotic reasons from childhood, I praise Hannover 96 mostly. Host stadium is AWD-Arena, the place where I attended at my first big international gig - Genesis (Invisible Touch tour in 1987 ). H96 are only secured middle-table now, but have been on nice run for last two season. Still, not a title team, for the opposition like Bayern or Borussia Dortmund seem to be hard to get. Among , players I praise Jan Schlaudraf mostly.
An impression of sound Then everything is gone Forever

H96 are my favourite Bundesliga team, I've been to the AWD arena about 4 teams and never seen them lose

Nice work, wilgy! Please, continue at least until the end of the season.

SPORT: Football/soccer TEAM Internazionale, Real Madrid, Bayern Munchen WHY: difficult to tell, but it made shiver when i watched their matches when i was 6 old and it never happened watching other teams FOLLOW: i watch every Inter match and when i can i watch RM and Bayern too, but it happens only for Champions League matches PLAYER: my fav player was a goalkeeper who played for Inter in the 80/90's called Walter Zenga (i'm a goalie!) and considered the best goalie of that era
MOMENT: who couldn't forget the UEFA cup Inter won in 98 against Lazio...can't tell about the champions league won in 2010
your name...like ice into my heart...a shllow grave...a monument to the ruined age...ice in my eyes...and eyes like ice don't move...screaming at the moon...as cold as silence...and you never will say a word...this is my name...and a strange day...ever and ever and ever again......
Why? I used to go to see them with my Dad when I was a kid. When I got to secondary school a few of my friends were in the youth team & I used to get free entrance to all the home games
Do you follow your team a lot? I keep an eye on their progress via the net now. Getting to Selhurst Park from Hungary is a bit of a trek & most of the televised matches are Premiership or European games. It's nice when they get in a televised cup match though (although they invariably get gubbed).
Who is your favourite player, or most famous? Jim Cannon was a rock & Kenny Samson was the pioneer of the long throw in. Later on, ian Wright (who we foolishly sold to Arsenal) was awesome & let's not forget John Burridge (Budgie). A great keeper & his pre-match warm up was well worth getting there early for.
What was the best moment so far? Champions of the old first division & runners up in the 1990 FA cup. We managed to take Manc Untidy to a replay & wuz robbed 1-0
What is a notable or interesting fact you can share? Eric Cantona once used the Palace fans for his Karate practice
Have supported them my whole life, probably longer. Have had a season ticket for all of my adult life, bought a "debenture season ticket" when we were still at the old Arsenal Stadium. Debenture Season Tickets lasted for ten years and the money raised from these tickets went toward the cost of redeveloping the "North Bank". Us lucky Debenture Season Ticket holders had our names put on our seats, still got rained on though! I always go, can't be helped, I was raised within a stone's throw of the Arsenal Stadium - Arsenal have NEVER played at a ground named "Highbury", the Arsenal Stadium was in Highbury, Fleetwood Town have a ground named Highbury, we have now relocated to the Emirates Stadium, the most luxurious ground in the country, it makes Wembley look like Highbury Fields.
Best moment ...... sheeeeesh such choice! For sheer drama it has to be Anfield 1989. At the time Liverpool were the dominant force in English and European football, the final game of the season was played on a Friday evening, Liverpool were two points clear of Arsenal - Arsenal had to win by two clear goals to win the league on "goals scored. The half time score was 0-0, Alan Smith then put us 1-0 up, liverpool protested for a few minutes about the validity of the goal - to this day I still can't work out what the problem was!! With minutes to go Steve McMahon was seen going up to every Liverpool player and saying "one minute, one minute", then a Liverpool attack broke down, the ball was with our 'keeper John Lukic, the crowd were imploring Lukic to belt the ball upfield but, Lukic rolled the ball out to Lee Dixon, then -- its a good ball from Dixon finding Smith, for Thomas charging through the midfield, Thomas .... it's up for grabs now -- THOMASSSSSSSSSS yep with almost the final kick of the season Arsenal won the league. We finished level on points with Liverpool, we had the same goal difference as Liverpool but, boring boring Arsenal won the league because we had scored more goals than Liverpool!! Other memories include, becoming the first English team to win away to Real Madrid, to AC Milan, demolishing Inter Milan 5-1 on their own ground, winning the European Cup Winners Cup against Parma in Copenhagen 1994, the season of "The Invincibles", winning the league at Old Trafford, winning the league at White Hart Lane, tear gassed and escorted en masse out of Paris by the lovely Gendarmes, even losing the Champions League Final 2-1 to Barcelona was a great day ....... so many great memories.
Favourite player? Tony Adams!! The man was a true legend, forget the Henry's et al, Tony Adams was Mr. Arsenal, reformed alcoholic who went to jail, came out to lead Arsenal to another league title, captained England through Euro '96, Sir Alex Ferguson described Tony Adams as "A Manchester United player in the wrong team", Gary Neville says Tony Adams was the greatest England captain he ever played under, Adams had pain killing injections before almost every game and never once thought about missing a game.
Arsenal have won nothing for eight years but, are still the most succesfful club from the South of England by a long long way. Forget the recent Chelsea triumphs, their trophy haul compared to that of the Arsenal is pitiful. Arsenal will come good again, when they do I'll be there.
psichonaut: I also praise Inter in Italy most. And Zenga was pure legend.
cold-39: surprised to see that you are into Bayern, are you not from a North Sea cost?
steve: I already apologized for this dumb move from Cantona back there at CCC, I will do it again here officially: so sorry.
@robmead: Sir Alex was more than right about Adams. Arsenal's finest by far. I praised Pires also very much.
you are right, but my team is fc bayern.....over 30 years...
