Hello all and first of all i am very happy to be here!My favotite team is the New-York Giants(nfl) and my favorite player is Eli Manning! Why?Because that guy looks like a dummy on the field but when he throws the ball he can win Superbowls!Have a nice day!
Annie...................................and then everything is gone forever...................
Who are they? The winningest baseball team in USA history.
Why? I'm an only child and I had a dad, uncles, and male cousins who loved the Yankees so I got into baseball and the team when I was a wee girl. I was actually a tom boy. I was the first girl to play on our local little league and I was also the first PERSON to hit the ball over the little league field fence! Then I was on both Babe Ruth and Girls Softball. My dad and I were very close and he, my uncle, my cousins and I would go to Yankee Stadium often in the summer. I loved those trips. We had so much fun! The Yankees are scolded for being "the evil empire" "the best team money can buy" but in the 1980s when there were 4000 fans in the stadium and nobody cared we still went!
Do you follow your team a lot?
Yes! And I get pretty heated about it too.
Who is your favourite player, or most famous?
Babe Ruth is probably the most famous. He was orignally a Red Sox player but then Harry Frazee SOLD him to The Yankees to get money for the play he wanted to make (for his girlfriend to star in) No No Nanette. As Babe was getting on the train to go to New York (in 1919) He said, "The Red Sox will pay for what they've done!" And until 2004 The last World Series they ever won was in 1918. They called it "The Curse of The Bambino"
My favorite Yankee of ALL Time is Paul O'Neill "The Warrior". Nobody could destroy a water cooler like Paul. But he was a hard working, tough, devoted player and on his last day the fans refused to stop cheering "Paaaaaul Oooo Neeeee il" The first time I ever saw him cry.
And Certainly Derek Jeter gets a nod from me because he is also very devoted, hard working and scandal free!
What was the best moment so far?
So many great moments. For ME! Seeing them win the 1977 and 1998 world series because I was at both of them.
Probably the most famous moments are -Reggie Jackson 3 homeruns in Game 6 of the 1977 WS Why we chant RE GGIE RE GGIE -Don Larsen's Perfect World Series Game The only one in history! -The famous Bucky f*****g Dent homerun off Mike Torrez at Fenway in 1978. Until this day there is a locker in the Red Sox locker room with a dent in it that nobody will use.
What is a notable or interesting fact you can share?
They've won 27 World Series. Only The St. Louis Cardinals are second with 11.
Lawrence "Yogi" Berra is the PLAYER with the most World Series Rings. He has 10! But Frank Crosetti has the most in history. He has 18 because he not only got them as a player but a coach!
Although everyone usually says it's Yogi. But it aint.
But we still love Yogi. And nobody even knows who Crosetti "The Crow" is unless they are die hard Yankee fans. lol
Who is next?
PS: Just as an added non-Yankee comment (and is an ongoing debate in this country that has seen fist fights emerge)
Pete Rose should be in the Hall of Fame. I will believe that until the day I die!
I am more than glad that this is becoming serious footie-thread. I missed that at CCC or was unaware of something similar. I forgot to display crests of my tems. So, here are they.
I have interesting inter-familiar situation, for my wife is die-hard supporter of Liverpool FC. Here you can see what she has "done" to our beloved daughter, when she was just three months old. Pure blasphemy.

My Team: Juventus Football Club S.p.A.
Sport: Football / Soccer
Who are they? A professional Italian association football club based in Turin, Piedmont. The club is the third oldest of its kind in the country and has spent the majority of its history, with the exception of the 2006–07 season, in the top flight First Division (known as Serie A since 1929).
Why? It's my favourite team from my childhood, also if my father tried to change my mind 'cause his fav team is Internazionale (ahahhaha!) but I was, I am and I will be always with Juventus.
Do you follow your team a lot? More or less, last year I was more focused on the matches they played, but I've always an eye keep on my team.
Who is your favourite player, or most famous? Was Alessandro Del Piero before he left the team, now is Gianluigi Buffon the goalkeeper!
What was the best moment so far? I think when we won the serie A championship, I was so proud of my team T_T
What is a notable or interesting fact you can share? - Juventus were Italy's best club and second in Europe of the 20th century. - The club is unique in the world in having won all official international competitions, and they have received, in recognition to win the three major UEFA competitions—first case in the history of the European football—The UEFA Plaque by the Union of European Football Associations on 12 July 1988.
What else might be interesting? Alessandro Del Piero holds Juventus' official appearance record (646 as of 23 October 2010). He took over from Gaetano Scirea on 6 March 2008 against Palermo. He also holds the record for Italian Serie A appearances with 467 (as of 21 December 2011). Including all official competitions, Alessandro Del Piero is the all-time leading goalscorer for Juventus, with 277 goals—as of 23 October 2010—since joining the club in 1993. Giampiero Boniperti, who was the all-time topscorer since 1961 comes in second in all competitions with 182.
How much more can we use it up?
drink it dry?
take this drug?
looking for something forever gone
but something
we will always want?
