I've only seen this thread from the 'recent posts' page - yup very good thread... My fave - when i was a kid (and I still like Bat out of Hell and Jim Steinman so I might get kicked out of here now I've admitted that) I always heard in place of where meat sings: 'On a silver black phantom bike...' Get ready folks 'I'm a Cilla Black fan on bike'

I need to unlearn some of my misheard lyrics to The Twilight Sad before seeing them next year...apparently the first three lines of 'Nobody Wants To Be Here And Nobody Wants To Leave' AREN'T 'Gimme a growbag.' But that's all I hear!

Took me forever to find this thread but I feel it needs a resurrection.
SO I listen to GEM 105 Radio all day at work. It is the most palatable station considering we have a choice of Taylor Spift (who I can't stand) Religious tunes, bah, country bah or heavy metal. So Gem plays 60s 70s and 80s music.
Today Madonna's La Isla Bonita was playing. For years I thought she was singing "Young girl with eyes like potatoes" Well, erm, she's not. It's allegedly "Young girl with eyes like the desert" but if you listen to it it doesn't sound like no dang desert to me.
