This thread is inspired by the Steve's New Gaff thread and being a homeowner.
I reserved this morning to monitor a window in our place where we have H2O intrusion while our upstairs neighbor hit their balcony door with a sprinkler for over an hour to try to replicate the problem. We have just had pointing work done to the building because several apartments have water intrusion. That didn't resolve it, so we have two holes cut into the wall to observe. Well, we could not replicate the problem.
We have a replacement window on order since the current one is shot from the water, but we can't put the window in until this is resolved.
To be certain, we are lucky to have our own, safe home. There's never a shortage of maintenance, etc., though. Sometimes it can feel like a money pit. We try to do what we can ourselves, but there are some things we dare not attempt. As much as I wish I could lay flooring or tile or repair grout, alas, I don't dare.
What are your current home projects or wishes?
