After travelling 3,250km (roughly 3.2 million Ultra Cures) all the way back east, our favourite beat combo land in São Paulo.
In 1544 two priests, Jose de Anchieta and Manuel da Nobrega, were sent there by the pope to ram catholicism down the natives’ throats.
Challenges quickly presented themselves. It was almost impossible to traverse the city due to the sheer volume of traffic where the locals, or São Paulionians as they are known, spend an average of 102 hours per year looking out of their car windows & playing games of I-spy.
Eventually someone said, ”Foda-se!” And decided to bypass all the congestion with the recently invented helicopter.
This soon caught on &, with 1300 of them, Brazil’s capital has the largest population of choppers in the world.
This makes it a lot quicker to get the shopping done or visit the Sumo gym
Jose & Manny, our two priests, spent a good while trying to think of a name for their newly founded city & with Jose being a huge fan of football, something he had in common with Brazilian people (& that’s a lot of people), he decided he’d name it after his favourite team. This is backed up by his historically documented conversations with Manny.
Of course, that needed to be converted to Portuguese & so São Paulo was submitted to google maps, approved & updated the following day.
Fans will be descending on the city in their droves today no doubt looking forward to a superb concert (without getting stuck in the traffic).
After their trip, the hungry hoard will likely partake of some Feijoada with a couple of cheeky Madelenas.
Rather than the state flag, I’m going with the city one for today’s set.
