I s'pose the lack of info is pointing to to no new scan of the film. Which would have been a decent re-release and worth the money.
That would have been slightly more interesting. But I think that falls out of scope for rip off store day being a film & all. Even an official audio only release of Orange would have been a bit different. But you can bet your house on that being on ltd edition orange vinyl.

That never existed to re-issue though so different rights etc. Don't care if it's RSD or not - if he's curating the back catalogue reissues and they're also sticking things on YT then Show is up for grabs. Anything has to be better than 4:3 letterbox VHS..
Reading what Roger said in December on twitter I would not be so sure about this. But there is indeed a Cure-Record completely ready for months according to Robert. Unfortunately it is not "Songs of a Lost World" but this upbeat album.
Oh Songs Of A Lost World will be the album. There's no going back on the amount of talk about it now. Since 2012 The Cure have been a complete beast of a band with an exceptional lineup & in the 11 years since then the only releases, with the exception of 40/ Cureation & Torn Down have been re-releases in stupid colours with a new sticker on the sleeve . This Show re-issue just feels like they're taking the piss. If anyone's getting excited for this, good for you. Enjoy being ripped off. It's your money (for something you already have).
What's even more perplexing is that this release still doesn't have the last five songs that were on the video
Yes, the version of A Forest on the Show is fantastic. Having those extra songs would give a bit more sense to this release.
But beyond the specifics of this release, what's annoying is the fact that they tease with "stay tuned, upcoming news" and then the next thing is the umpteenth re-release, when there's a new album which is allegedly ready or nearly ready and when there's been no new record for now 15 years!
It'd be more honest to just say: look, we're just a nostalgia act now. Enjoy us live for as long as it lasts.

Remastering is the equivalent on buying your favourite food item which suddenly declares to have a new improved recipe with less fat, salt & sugar. But it'll cost you more & will leave you asking 'what shiate have I been eating all these years '?
Too bad they're not doing a blu-ray of Show. I'd buy that!
That would at least be slightly interesting. Until then, the CDi mpegs are as good as it gets
If you want best quality try to get a laser disc rip. The Cd-i is 352x288 mpeg-1 video with mp2 audio around 224kbps. Laser disc has lossless cd audio and higher resolution analogue video. Cd-i is limited by cd capacity around 700mb and uses ancient compression. It could be better than the vhs though. Just my 2 cents.
One good thing about music, when it hits you feel no pain So hit me with music, hit me with music
