While working at home I drink 4 big 430ml mugs of coffee everyday. The forth one is sometimes decaf. All of them always black and always bitter. And hot. At the office it's more, I think 6-8. The reason is stressful job in stressful environment and more tiredness. The other difference is that the coffee is lousy there
For some time now I've been buying only whole beans coffee. I've preferred lately drip methods of brewing. They give more flower and fruit flavour, less acidity and bitterness and let develop full spectrum of coffee taste.
I fully agree with chuckrh that Jamaica Blue Mountain and Hawaii Kona Extra Fancy are the best coffee you can ever get. Sadly, the price is too high for me even for special occasions
I've discovered though Geisha which is really very good coffee. Panama Geisha is expensive but there is also Honduras Geisha with the price more acceptable but not much worse taste and aroma.
Apart from those there are so many good and interesting coffee brands from all over the world that everyday cup of coffee may become a real adventure.
Btw, decaf doesn't mean bad or worse coffee. There is only important to buy those brands that are not decaffeinated with chemical methods.
But I don't see And I don't feel But tightly hold up silently My hands before my fading eyes And in my eyes Your smile
I mistook stars reflected in a pond at night for those in the sky.
From staining, I assume you mean. Probably not from the effects of sugar on teeth, though I wouldn’t know if drinking sugared drinks is the same as eating lots of sugary food, from the perspective of tooth decay..
Hmmmm, it seems I can't substantiate the part about sugar. I was curious after your question, so I tried to find any reference to that I could. It was probably a dozen years or so since I read that. I must be remembering it wrong, although I remember being surprised at the mention that sugar could be beneficial in this regard.
So yes, it seems that adding milk helps with staining (duh), but doesn't protect that teeth in any other way.

Be careful with that much coffee intake. I used to know this guy who developed bladder cancer. It was linked to his copious intake of coffee...

My co-worker drinks her coffee with a straw to avoid any potential staining.

This gets around the whole staining issue completely

I had a coworker who did that. It seems as weird as drinking beer through a straw to me.
Drinking the Maxwell House brand (it’s much cheaper than the brands I normally buy, I want to try to save a bit of $$$) and I have to say it’s not that great.

You have to brew MH in an old school non-electric percolator with generations of past pots detris caked on the inside over a campfire for the full effect, haha.
I tried a ‘holiday brew’ (bought it on clearance) today and unfortunately it smells and tastes like rotten apples.
Ya, those are real hit & miss. I didn't try any this year I was wild about. Have had a few good ones in the past. Mostly depends on the roaster. We have a real lot of those here, haha. Did you know espresso & marijuana is called a Seattle speedball?

Thanks for responding to my post chuckrh. I'm not normally picky when it comes to coffee, so I’m sorta bummed out by this one ! I guess they all can’t be winners though .
