Bob going through 80+ live recordings saying he wants 0-8 seconds of Alone solo from Madrid, 9-23 seconds of Alone solo from New York night 2, 24-45 seconds of Alone solo from Mexico...etc. At current work rate, that'll put the album release back to around 2028.
Very worrying if they're not happy with what was recorded in the album sessions.

Don't worry: there are no solos in Alone (which is paradoxical, I realize).

Ha! that's funny...
I might be thinking of another new song, but doesn't he strap on a guitar 3/4 of the way thru the song and play a little soloy bit near or at the end of Alone?
If you have a lead on Brisbane 21 August 1992 - CT version, for the love of Bob, let me know. Please!

He goes on a big 'airplane taking off' like solo in ICNSG. I don't remember anything memorable on guitar in Alone, just soft atmospheric tapestry...

Well, this is definitely not a huge widdly widdly wah wah solo, but he's definitely playing a little extra sprinkle on top here @ the 06:00 mark. It might depend on your definition of "solo" I guess..

My definition of solo is something that catches my attention enough so that one of the following happens:
- it sticks and I find myself humming it - I feel the urge to try and track it down myself on my guitar or, if too difficult, on my air guitar... :-)
He only plays solos if they're called for. Otherwise I'd call them fills. Riffs even. I do love how he's coloured the band's sound over the past few years without making it all about him. Porl's last stint was all wah wah pedals & not a lot else. Maybe to cover for the lack of keyboards at the time. RG knows when to let loose & when to pull back a bit. That's not to say Porl was bad. He was just different. As were The Cure at the time.
Although i feel Endsong is Jason's shining moment Reeves does some amazing stuff snuck in there. Can't wait to hear it live. I'll bet it's goosebump producing

This is so much what I appreciate about RG's playing w/ TC. It takes great instinct/judgment, respect for the musicians you're working with, and sometimes restraint, not to get carried away and keep things in balance, for lack of a better descriptor. It's just enough...
I just got a ticket to this. It's within walking distance or an easy bus ride. Mr. K can't go because there's a sleepover happening at our place and it would be good to have an adult home for that.

I'm so stoked to see something outside the box!!!
I would love to go but it's on my friend's birthday and we're taking her out. Enjoy. Pssst you might get to say hello to Susan and Reeves. Say you're a tccr. They are lovely.

I'm sorry you will miss it, but i'm sure your friend will be really grateful.
I know they are lovely. Not likely to go up and say "hi", though. I would never...
Just to be clear, ^^ that’s not a value judgement. As a kid when there were piñatas at birthday parties I was that kid who would wait until the scramble was over, hanging back. 😁
