The (not so) Empty World

St. Lucia may be the most beautiful place I've ever visited. Here's a photo of les Pitons that I took whilst on a catamaran ride. We saw a couple of sea turtles on the water that day, it was a dream! Lost out of the rum punches I had though

We've got family on Nevis but we're never going to get there for a visit. Maybe in retirement!

Feel-good story - One evening my (former) partner treated me to the most amazing seafood restaurant in Cancale. Afterward, we drove to an illuminated & tourist-free Mont St-Michel and walked around for a couple of hours. It was without a doubt, the most romantic night of my life! Awww. ☺️

Yes! On both counts.

We've only done one inclusive trip, for our honeymoon. Our normal take on traveling is lots of moving around and seeing stuff, not so much down time.

We honeymooned in Punta de Mita Mexico (Pacific Coast) and did two all inclusive places, one small, one large. It was so different than what we were used to. The small place, Casa de Mita, was the kind of place where there were three dogs we could count on to be outside our door in the morning and the owner let us borrow a car for the day to go to Puerto Vallarta. Small and personal. Mudslides served in the pool while floating on a raft. The food was amazing.

The second place, St. Regis Punta de Mita, was the kind of place where they shuttled you to dinner on a golf cart and recorded where you were going due to kidnapping risks. It was by far the most upscale place I've ever stayed, and I have to admit I loved it. Outdoor personal shower. We were there over Halloween and watched The Exorcism of Emily Rose on Halloween night on the hotel bed with cheesy informercials in Spanish. I would take the more personal, smaller setting any day, though.

Maybe we'll do another trip like this for our next big anniversary. We didn't do much for our 10th last year because we were saving $, but maybe soon. In short, all inclusive always seemed like something to stay away from before that trip, but it was awesome.
