Hey steve . How are you doing today? Which vaccine did you end up getting?
I had the Sinopharm (Chinese) one. Feel fine. My arm doesn't even ache. Yesterday it felt a bit like I'd bashed it on something but today I don't feel like crap at all. It hurt more ripping the little sticking plaster off the injection site really.

Glad things went well for you. I'm about 2 days (if I'm feeling better from this week's poisoning) from my first haircut in over 6 months. Woo hoo! Tired of rocking the skullett!

My wife and I went out to dinner last night. Our first time doing that since the first week of March of last year. It was weird. Wasn’t completely at ease, but this is why we got the vaccine… to try and get back to some version of normal safely.
I will say, as excited as I am about the Pet Shop Boys/New Order show in NYC in September (our first concert on the calendar since the pandemic), it’s still hard to get my head around attending a large indoor gathering like that. Hopefully by fall I’ll be in a better place regarding gatherings and the world will be in a better place regarding the virus.
It’s day fourteen of my quarantine! Starting tomorrow, I am permitted to socialize with one other household. The past six weeks have been difficult, so this bit of freedom is a huge blessing.

Well that sounds like a huge positive ! It’ll probably feel weird or even scary when doing things that were part of the everyday routine before Covid hit, but in time we’ll adjust.

After so long being unable to do this sort of thing I think a lot of us will probably feel slightly uneasy about leaping headlong into "normality" quite so fast. I'm not terribly good with crowds anyway & get really anxious, so a sudden addition of a whole boat load of people is going to probably really freak me out. Glad you both at least had the chance (& the confidence) to take a first step. Fingers crossed things will get easier to wrap one's head around

I didn't realise you were quarantining. Enjoy the socialising and be careful

There’s a mandatory fourteen day quarantine period for people coming into the province. Unfortunately, a lot of people aren’t following the order. Sigh. Tomorrow I plan on going to play with my five-year old niece; I foresee a day full of hopscotch and chalk art ! Just realized it’ll be the first time in months that I’ll be face-to-face with actual people apart from grocery clerks.

Huzzah! You did it, Danielle! I hereby positively reinforce you for doing the right thing. As you said, many people are not heeding this rule. Sure, it sucks and is unpleasant, but sometimes when adulting it's our duty to put up with unpleasantries.
Have lots of fun with your niece tomorrow. Go get ice cream, or something! Maybe it's still too cold there for that...

When Bingo is a very good boy and does the right thing, I’ll sometimes reward him with a piece of cheese. Since I’ve been very very good, I’d also like a piece of cheese. Positive reinforcement, right ? I’m partial to Camembert, but I’m not too picky. I’ve PM’d you my mailing address... 😉
Too funny, I was thinking of going for ice cream tomorrow! Supposedly, it’s going to be 22 and sunny. Yay!

I won't mail you camembert, as it's actually my favorite, too, and I'm not good at sharing.
