I got a message from Kate (Mort 's wife). He is seriously ill after contracting covid & has been in ICU for a couple of weeks. We've been in touch in that time. He described it as like scuba diving with a straw for a snorkel. And everything tastes like rust. So at least he couldn't taste the hospital food. The virus has resulted in him getting pneumonia which can't be much fun when you only have one lung & a second hand heart. I am told he is now stable & the doctors hope to see some improvement from now on. So please keep him, Kate, Charlie, & Jane in your thoughts.
Thanks, Steve. Wishing Nathan and his loved ones all the best.

I had wanted to send him a postcard for our cure watch parties - then I saw your post on Twitter. If there is any effort to send him something from the cure community, I will pitch in. Is there already talk of doing that?
Hi all, I've not been following this thread but I did leave a comment here the other day that opened a conversation between me and another member here. So..without further ado or explanation: Following government guidelines and pharmaceutical advice is all well and good if it helps you; I don't want to discuss the pros and cons, conspiracy theories or independant researches. What I do want to say is that your beliefs can be supported with complimentary medicine. Isolating is a great way to stop the spread as is building and supporting the immune system.
Now..I'm a health worker of a fashion, I work in a local clinic and I teach people how to kill other people. It's great fun. Death strikes and guaranteed knock outs. Just great fun. It's an old art called tai chi chuan, you may have heard of it.
Now...conversations with this other recently got me thinking....Ahhhhhkay...ahkay ahkay...why not put on some free Zoom classes for the Curecommunity?
Well my only reason to think not to is that I'm a dealer and not a pusher...I don't hawk tai chi...I just know how to teach it to those that want it....
Any of you folk want some free Chinese medicine send me a PM...And if ya don't I promise not to bother you again...I really hate pushing this stuff...yours if you want it..get in touch if you're a little interested.

i posted this thought on another thread inside covid, but has there been any talk of sending him something from 'the gang'? I'm new ish to this board but have been chatty with Nathan on Twitter and had wanted to send him a watch party postcard. If there is any effort to send him well wishes ( I think flowers and covid are a no-no) of some kind, please let me know and I'll pitch in. I would also really like to send him a card. I could send two to someone here who could forward, or? - Arusha
I think, if you want to send something, a card like that would be appreciated. But he moved house a couple of weeks back & I don't know if his mail's being forwarded. Pretty sure he's got other things on his mind to be honest.

I thought I had posted the idea of doing some kind of group get well card, gift, or something. To be clear, I had wanted to send him this *before* I found out he was ill. This thought was as basic as looking through the list of people that have contributed to the event.
Then, after reading that he has been so ill, I thought it would be nice to send him a group gift from The Cure Community. This idea, the gift, has zero ties to anything other than thinking of a fellow human being and wanting to be kind. That is all.
Is there anyone out there that would want to do this?
His body is now actively fighting back, for a while it was just the drugs but the Doctor says it looks like Nathan has decided to fight . We don't know how well the recovery will go we've been told there may be side effects but at the moment he is improving.
Gifts aren't necessary, we are still unpacking from the move, keeping busy. We're still not allowed to visit but I do know a lot of the nurses and get them to pass on messages. Thanks for asking but I think best wishes are all anyone can send right now

Best wishes, good thoughts and vibes are coming their way all the time, every day.
But I don't see And I don't feel But tightly hold up silently My hands before my fading eyes And in my eyes Your smile
I mistook stars reflected in a pond at night for those in the sky.
My dad got his second dose last weekend. That second one is definitely a doozie! Knocked him out for about a day and a half. Of course, he’s in his 80s, so that could’ve been a factor. Hang in there!
Yeah, this is no cake walk. I slept really poorly because of being hot and achy and also had some pretty wretched nausea and a headache. Have only gotten out of bed to take ibuprofen and a migraine pill, which helped. I don’t want anyone to be discouraged from getting it, but it definitely warrants clearing one’s calendar the day after.
I'm taking my elderly friends for their second shot on Friday so I had better warn them that they could feel a bit rough for a bit. Otherwise they'll get scared if they don't know what's going on. Have to word that carefully though otherwise they might just chicken out of having the jab entirely.

I would hope that the health care providers and government health entities there are letting people know there may be some "intense" side effects of the second jab. Here, the CDC's web site does suggest people not plan on working the day after the second shot.
If your friends are aware and have a fever/pain reducer at their bedside and everything they need to possibly spend a couple of days in bed, hopefully they will be just fine.
