The mayor in Balatonfured (where I live) has decided nothing will be open at all over Easter & nobody (even town residents) will be allowed to go down to the lake for their state sanctioned walk/ exercise . And all because the cops stopped a bunch of morons at the weekend who decided on a day trip out from Budapest. The epicentre of our contagion. That will mean everyone flocking back to the shops in droves this week as they won't be able to go over the weekend at all. In Hungary, buta means stupid. Therefore Butapest.

Yes, people are morons. Lots of evidence of that here, too. The cemetery I love is full of trash and some idiot brought their dog in because people are selfish morons. I see lots of groups of 3-4 20-somethings out and about in groups together. Yes, it's hard and it sucks. I'm sure when you don't have a family or someone you live with that you are bored out of your gourd and not getting laid. But that doesn't entitle you to be an idiot and flout the rules. Everyone is in this together and nobody gets a special pass.
I'm sorry you will have a stressful Easter because of idiots, steve. Fortunately, I found where I could order some British Easter candy from our favorite local (Welsh-owned) candy shop. Sad thing is, I've eaten most of mine already.

maybe the mayor can build a wall at the park. or is that just the president, like here?

Well we're going to be in the same boat soon. We have NY and NJ people (sorry @notkristie) driving here (when I say here I don't mean Philly, Scranton I mean HERE where I live in Podunk) and they are going to be greeted at all entrances by the National Guard and they can haul their azzes right back where they came from. We DO NOT have the medical personnel or the equipment to deal with their sh$t. I'm all for helping people but we cannot handle that many people. We will NOT get help from the government because they all have NY and NJ addresses!! They don't count as Pennsylvanians. So buh bye!

Ugh, Pipperoo. I'm so sorry to hear this. Dunces. I'm aware people from here are doing that, but it's so stupid and irresponsible. Exactly the wrong way to deal with the situation at hand.
Yes, send them packing! They can come back here and suffer with the rest of us peons. I hate entitled people...
One thing that is really helping me to remain positive during this time (aside from not seeking out the death stats each day) is to think about the fact that once this lifts and we're able to go out again it will be like the biggest party ever. People will be hugging and partying in the streets. I don't think we'll ever experience that kind of collective joy again in our lifetime.

I know I've sung the praises of Ohio's governor and director of the Ohio Department of Health during this pandemic in this thread. Well, I guess I'm not their only fan. A local guy made them a theme song based on the Laverne and Shirley '70s theme song, complete with an animated shot-for-shot remake of the TV show opening! Of note, Purell is made by Gojo, which is based here in Northeast Ohio, so extra points for substituting the Shotz Brewery with the Purell factory.

I have think feeling it will be the exact opposite... maybe it is my lack of faith in humanity and all of the Shirt I have seen the last few weeks with people being nothing more than assholes. I really hope you are right, but everything I have seen has me running the other way.

I'm basing my assumption on what I've seen here before when the majority of people here are really happy. For example, when Obama was elected it was a literal party in the streets here.
This is the largest mass-trauma that's happened here since 9/11 and that event ended up having a positive social impact on our city. Well, aside from the people who used it as an excuse to hate certain cultures, but fortunately, there were more people who used it as a lesson to be more caring towards strangers.
Laney, once restrictions are lifted what do you envision?
