PLEASE!!! If you decide to wear gloves, please be careful!!! You will still contaminate with gloves on, but of course your hands will be (almost) virus free! Be very carefull when taking the gloves (and if you use masks) off. The risk for getting virus on your hands is extremely high during the process of taking it off, if you don’t know how to do it correct!!!
I’m only using gloves at the hospital, but outside the hospital, I’m not using anything but water, soap and occationally hand sanitizer - if I don’t have access to soap and water!
BUT IF YOU WEAR MASKS AND GLOVES, THIS IS THE CORRECT WAY TO TAKE IT OFF:
First gloves off, then hand sanitize for 10 sec. Then the mask the following way: First the upper band. Tie it up as far away from the face as possible and the the same with the lower band. Hand sanitize again for 10-20 sec.
Every time you use handsanitizer, make sure to use plenty, so your hands are generously covered and pretty wet. Rub hands until they are totally dry! Don’t let them air dry, but rub!
An ordinary surgical mask will probably not protect enough agains aerosoles, then you need a ffp2 or 3 mask, and you can max use that 3-5 hrs a day, or else they can cause serious lounge damages!
COVID 19 is mostly drop born, and will not be in the air for more than a few secs. Then it will fall to the ground, so think that everything from the ground and aprox 20 cm up is “unclean”
In Denmark, at least the part of denmark I’m living in, we have really good statistics alteady. I went to pandemic training last week, and that was so amazing! I’m now a group 4, so that means that I’m a part of the last group to participate. I don’t hope it will be realistic, because we have plenty at my uaual ward, and only one respirator, because the rest are at the pandemic wards.
I hope people will behave during easter, so Denmark can come back to normal again.
I only miss a few friends and Peter, but I’m also that blunt, that I really don’t need anybody to be in my life - as long as I have my daughters (and dogs...)
I hope you guys and the loved ones you have are doing well during this crisis.

Thank you for providing instructions on how to remove masks and gloves properly - I will pass this information on as much as I can.

Just been shopping & the assortment of different face masks, including home made affairs, make it look like half the people in Tesco are there to rob the place
& stay off the subway if you can. It's a petri dish in the best of times!
Yes, wisest thing to do right now is stay home, just stay home. Make large food storage (not crazy, but larger than usual) and think about anything you may need to be at home as long as you can. This virus is highly infectious, and, apparently, you are suffering now in NY the same situation we have here. Everytime I go out to the street to buy food or to handle meds to my brother (i’ve been with him this evening) I reset the clock to zero and think that maybe I’ve brought the virus with me to my house. So first thing I do is take a shower and wash my clothes.
Update on my brother: fever still remains, it’s even higher these last days, rising up to 38.4º, and he is still feeling weak and tired. He is reluctant to go to his Health Care Center, not to mention the hospital. My three sisters are beginning to get nervous with his situation and they are trying to convince him to visit the Center, but he says he is still not that bad. A very stubborn brother I have, I must say.
Just catching up here..Apologies as i been out of it for sometime. UN gran abrazo a tu hermano Y familia gongoro73

The couple I have been doing shopping & stuff for made me a couple of face masks. I'm not going to use them, but couldn't exactly say no thanks.
One of my friend's parents sent her homemade masks from Japan and she asked if I wanted one. I said, "no." I guess that probably wasn't the "nice" thing to do.
Now I am actually second guessing myself since the powers that be are now recommending masks for all to help keep asymptomatic folks from being spreaders. If nothing else, this experience is teaching me my beliefs about things can evolve over time. That makes me happy, I mean knowing I'm not totally obstinate.

Whyyy are you not going to use them? You NEED to use them when going out. This is an airborne virus. Don't make me get my whip?
Edit: Our infectious disease doctor said this virus hangs in the air long enough that if someone coughs or sneezes in a vestibule and you walk in even one minute after them you can inhale the microbes. WEAR THE DAMN MASK!!!! Get one with the Sister's symbol on it. Do you see this total?

Sorry, but there is no scientific evidence to back that up. It's known to be droplet borne & masks have virtually no impact on the spread. I think ninja has already explained mask etiquette. For them to be effective they need to be at minimum FFP2 & even then if you fiddle about with them continually, they are useless. Just staying away from people is fine. Especially if they're coughing & sputtering.

As the video mentioned above my city is taking measures starting at midnight tonight!
The City of Chula Vista is following the county directives announced on April 2 and taking steps to communicate the new mandates to the community.
The County announced new restrictions and updated the public health order. Sheriff Gore announced voluntary compliance is over. The public health orders are “not a recommendation – they are orders.” The County will start issuing citations that could be up to a $1,000 fine, up to 6 months in jail, or both. The County is requiring strict compliance for all jurisdictions with the following:
All essential businesses that engage with the public are to require facial covering (e.g., bandanas, cloth masks, not medical grade masks) for employees starting April 3 at midnight.
Parking lots in all parks, recreation centers, beaches are to be closed effective April 3 at midnight. This is to discourage people from driving to other communities and to emphasize walking, bike riding, etc., near your home.
Group activities are prohibited. People may walk in their neighborhoods but gathering for a basketball game, picnic, or party are prohibited.
