So, it seems we'll be seeing them live before any new releases. I have to admit I'm very disappointed. Of course there's a hope of them releasing a kickass comeback album but I guess it's a long shot. What do you think? Any bands did a comeback after a decade? Rolling stones? Zz top? Whatever...
Fur comeback was pretty good after a 30 year break, anything is possible!

Touring with the new songs before album release ensures two things:
1. Our expectations of what the new songs sound like will be different than the reality once we hear the studio tracks. 2. If they tour the new songs before album release it means we have another mediocre album on our hands.

Because it shows they didn’t think it was strong enough to release beforehand….it’s easier to tour on the strength of past hits than an album that is probably poorly mixed with uninspired lyrics. That’s what they did with 4:13 and it was weak.

Pornography was not released when they started touring in 82' and I can't call it a weak album.

Totally agree. A case in point is underneath the stars sounded fab live but utter Shirte recorded.
