Because it shows they didn’t think it was strong enough to release beforehand….it’s easier to tour on the strength of past hits than an album that is probably poorly mixed with uninspired lyrics. That’s what they did with 4:13 and it was weak.
That's quite a huge assumption.
Everything I say is a huge assumption, just like everything Robert says is a huge lie. We are like that.
Theory: New album will be on a usb stick taped beneath the crowd barrier at the first gig of the tour, but we’ll all be so busy doing our eyeliner/hair/the unstuck that we won’t notice & it will be lost forever.
At this point they will colonize Mars before they release that album. He is so afraid of it flopping. Just do it man. We might not love it or we might. Either way were going to buy it. Let's face it, we buy sht that's 40 years old we'll buy it. Just release it.
I agree, I think he's afraid now... The fans would kind of guarantee worlwide sales of xx thousands of anything he'd ever want to release, but's it's not the kind of figures he hopes for the band, so he'd rather stop. That's why there's a lot of pressure on the forthcoming release, if it's ... bad.
Back in May Robert said they will be releasing the new album before the start of the new tour. That seems very unlikely now since the tour already kicks off at the beginning of next month....unless of course they will postpone the tour. A bit disappointing the he is not giving any update....

Robert says many things. In fairness, that is probably what they were aiming for. I think it's highly unlikely that there will be a new album this year. We may get some new songs on the upcoming tour which would be nice. One can only speculate why they chose to do a full European tour with an album to come out afterwards. I try not to get miffed about it. At least they're still around. The concerts will be great and at some point there may be a new album and it may or may not be good. We'll see.
So is Roger saying the new album won't be released for this tour even though the band said it would be?
I didn't see that statement anywhere in what he said. He did somewhat slap down an entitled whiner who thinks they know everything quite abruptly though. How he appears to know that Robert doesn't think it's good enough is quite the stretch.
Thing is, the more they mess about with rip off store day stuff, black Friday stuff & re-issues, the more hassle they're going to have getting vinyl & pressing capacity.....because we all need to wait for the 19th century technology people (who more than likely also own CD players & computers anyway) before anyone else gets a look in.

I have zero interest in reissues, picture discs, bucket hats, jogging bottoms, thongs, mugs, picture books, calendars...etc
The only thing I'm interested in is whether this new album is being released for the new tour as Robert said it would be. Is it being released in September/October 2022 or not?
