New album in March 2019 Well, that's a pretty well-reported timeline, but guaranteed it will slip due to plans for the 2019 tour, or the tour itself, depending on when that it. .
[
Yes it's going to be difficult to finish an album in February when they are due on tour March 14th. Also have past history of this during the 4got album tour of 2008.
Confidence will be low after the mixed reactions to the last two albums, 4:13 and the self titled. So Robert will be nervous releasing something new because it's been 18 years since their last classic album Bloodflowers.
It's a massive move and pressure for the band, this new album has to be creatively brilliant which I'm sure they are capable of.
However Robert's sole job of tracklisting choices for albums has not always been great on recent albums. I hope the others get more input this time.

Due the previous facts, I wish for the band (Robert) focus only in the new album.
I don´t want that several projects delays the album and at the end, nothing new comes to light.
*And a wishful thinking, any wrong voice effects in the new album*
Absolutely, Robert needs to be concentrating on getting these lyrics all ready for February album recording.
But there's a good chance he's just doing the audio for this Hyde park thingy. Like we really need yet another concert of all their usual gig songs. Hydepark was a good gig but nothing special setlist wise.
The new album is far more important than any of the other projects and should be taking preference.
Oh yeah those vocal effects, definitely needs to cut down on that reverse reverb (vocal arriving before the line) and having the last vocal say at the end of every song

Agree.
The album is the top priority.
Any other things comes in the last place very far behind.
We REALLY NEED an honest and capable producer (Dave Allen??), a new Chris Parry, a peaceful Robert willing to accept help from the others, amazing lyrics and awesome music, incredible artwork, very strict deadlines and no wrong voice effects.
With all the above, a good work for sure will be.

Yeah a good producer is needed, the last two albums don't sound great production wise and too compressed
Oh and don't go over the top trying to get too many songs on the album which wms and 4:13 suffers from.
It worked with kiss me but in those days every song egg Robert laid was golden, he was incapable of writing a bad song in the 80s.
Quality over quantity, I'd take a 8-10 tracks new album like their 80-85 output with zero filler.
And make sure you include "please come home"!!! Love that track.

Again, agree.
Pretty much of your points of view expressed here have running through my mind a lot times since many years.
Yep. for me 79 to 92 was without waste. Any sound that came from his/theirs minds was pure gold. Later, they´ve had some flaws but many highlights too.
They can´t afford to never release ABINK, Please Come Home (for me one of the most raw lyrics ever, I LOVE the Bob´s SINGING), and ICNBTS, for example.
I want a cd launching like the old days, singles (3) ,great opening and closing tracks, the last track named like the album, new intro song for concerts, something between 10 or 12 tracks lenght.
I´m totally aware I´m setting my hopes beyond the stratosphere but I want to believe that a good album is still at reach of the band.

I think there is danger in expectations. In saying that, shouldn’t we all hope for glory and beauty? It’s a slippery slope, on a knife edge with long falls either side, and a rocky, snake and glass filled bottom......
Let’s face it, the facts are what they are, the last few records have not been of the grandeur that fans have expected or experienced, and we can only hope for what lots of us consider “an improvement”.
If you have a lead on Brisbane 21 August 1992 - CT version, for the love of Bob, let me know. Please!

It´s true.
Hoping too much for a great work is higly risky. Even more due past experiences.
I think we all know that but I´m willing to take a chance because an eager wish for a decent album.
I want to believe during the last 10 years he/they could do 8 good songs. Not the greatest, just good.
Let´s find it soon.
I hope this time he sticks to his words and release a good work, not a work done in a hurry and with lack of a minimum quality.

hmmmm... I hate to say this, but I'm not sure that they have the capability to write an album's worth of exemplary material, be it musically and/or lyrically. To me, any song on Disintegration (except Love Song) is top shelf material, the same goes for every song on Wish, except for Doing The Unstuck, but that has some amazing guitar work on it via Porl so it almost gets there, but if I review the last two records, then it's not a case of "every song's a winner" like on previous records. They feel rushed lyrically, sonically, they miss the mark, and they feel unfinished.
I certainly don't feel that same "oh my Bob!, this is amazing!" when I put on "The Cure" or "4:13 Dream". Sure, there are songs on both records that make my jaw drop (ha, i accidentally wrote "draw" there earlier, instead of "jaw" as in "dropping one's drawers (pants) lol), such as "Anniversary", or "It's Over", but overall, those records are "make a playlist of the best songs" albums - which is a shame, tarnishes the legacy of the band, and makes me wonder what the deuce is going on.
This follows on in the new songs. Listen to "It Can Never Be The Same", and then immediately listen to "Step Into The Light". Surely you can't tell me that both of those songs are of equal calibre. Maybe to some people they are, I know people who have told me that they think all of the songs on 4:13 Dream are excellent, and it's ONLY the production that suffers, rendering the album less than a 10/10, so I'd need to respectfully disagree with them on that, and with anyone who says that these two new songs are as good as each other, therefore I'm tipping another record that's made up of 1/2 excellent songs, and the other half ideas that need to be fleshed out, and / or reworked completely, all topped off with lyrics and melodies that are running at 70% greatness.
I hope to Bob, I'm wrong, there is nothing more I want than an 11/10 record, and nothing less I don't want (?) than a poor record, so I hope, and I wait.

I'm shocked at reading that "doing the unstuck" is the weak song on wish. For me, it's one of the best songs on the album and would have made a great single.
It's Wendy time for me that is the only flaw on the magnificent Wish album.
