hey steve , something i just noticed I've become a SOALW member while i was a 4:13 member until last night Something wrong?! I mean with the album sleeves upon my 'high' image (avatar they call it or something anyway?)
Nope. Nothing wrong. A couple of nights ago the question was asked & I jumped on it & updated the badges.
So did you mralphabet listened the SOALW yet or not? And if yes, did you liked it?
Yeah it's fandabbydozie, top songwriting. Liking every track, a lot of classic cure songs, just need Warsong to grow on me. Thought it was gonna be a cover...war war is stupid and people are stupid.
Only thing I'm not crazy about is Simon's fuzz bass sound that he uses on a lot of the songs. I prefer the fuzz sound he used on the mighty Screw. But it's a small gripe and doesn't affect my enjoyment of the album.
Simon "I've got a fuzzbox and I'm gonna use it" Gallup.
I have noticed a LOT more dirt (be it overdrive, distortion or fuzz in different songs) over the last 10? years, or even further back. Listen to the bass intro of The Kiss from Trilogy and it's dirty as.
I wonder how this works then? Simon's been using a lot more dirt on his bass for years now, in places where album versions don't have dirty bass parts (such as on Disintegration (the song, not the album)) but now he plays it with dirt, all of the time.
So, has he decided off his own back that he likes the dirt better, and anyone else be damned, or did the band say "oh here you go Simon we got you this ODB-3, have a crack on it" and everyone agreed to it cos it sounds PHAT, or did Robert slyly or overtly say "we're doing dirty bass now".... So many questions..
Given RS wrote all of the songs on this, and presumably the next two records, did his writing veer into the production of elements such as what type of dirt to put on bass, guitar etc....
So. Many. Questions.
If you have a lead on Brisbane 21 August 1992 - CT version, for the love of Bob, let me know. Please!
Well hi everybody. I love the new album and I even like the way the CD is mixed. I like the fuzzy guitar and bass sound and the loud drums. In fact, I used to hate Jason’s drumming and his drums are my favorite part.
