I applaud bio-degradable garden rubbish sacks. Except when they bio-degrade in less than 72 hours & split when you pick them up to put them out for collection, spewing grass cuttings all over the floor on a very windy day. I don't applaud them then. I swear at them. A lot.
I put some of the free cemetery mulch I picked up on my plants the other day and shaped Herman Cornejo (the boxwood). Thinned out the chamomile by about 50%. It’s not much, but it’s all mine.

I can totally picture you curled up in thar chair enjoying a cup of coffee every morning
My mom had basically not done any yard work since fall other than mowing her lawn. She lives on a corner lot and her house is surrounded by shrubs, meaning there is *lots* to do. Everything was totally overgrown and the bushes had tons of dead undergrowth and leaves in them. It’s a good thing I love yard work (probably because I never have to do it).
I’ve spent about 7 hours out there cleaning up so far and have just scratched the surface. I did a four-hour marathon two days ago and filled one huge yard waste can and 11 yards waste bags. Since I was drinking beer I was foolhardy and went into her shrubs in shorts and a sports bra. Since I couldn’t feel much pain I told myself it’d be fine. Fast forward two hours and I was covered in scratches and a burning rash. Duh.
I found a pristine nest in a bush and a little toad. I always thought I would love landscaping as a job. I’m in heaven.
