Here are the seven surviving magnolia seedlings I successfully propagated from a neighbor's tree. I culled a couple early on that were the slowest to grow because I knew I would have too many to find homes for. I am keeping two and still have two that need homes. I grew up with a magnolia tree in my yard in Virginia. The blossoms smell like lemons.
It was so green this morning when I was on my back patio that I had to try to capture it. All My (Green) Children.
Anyone know anything about grow lights or a good resource to learn about them? This year I’d like to try using them for the plants that need to overwinter inside. I don’t know where to start.

Exactly! I should’ve tagged her. I’m just going to start searching for general info (wavelengths, cycles, etc) and weed out the sponsored content.
One thing I saw a while ago was quite interesting. Use an old electric blanket to sit all the pots on if you have extreme winters. Doesn't have to be cranked up full but just enough to stop frost.

Yeah, I have this thing against using heat outside. The ones I’m leaving outside are hardy enough to withstand the climate.
I did see a neighbor once string her potted citrus tree with tin lights and cover it with gauze when we had a late spring frost. Same principle as the blanket, I gather…
Speaking of plants, I’m plantsitting for our neighbors who have a rooftop. It’s nice! (Many of their plants are as already dead, though, so I hate watering them.
As the temperatures are dropping very low at night I brought my chilli plant to the kitchen window sill so it can carry on producing fruit. I've had about 150 chilies off this thing this year & it shows no signs of stopping. So, of course Iggy feels the need to dig it up during the night
