The airport tour was really good. I like airplanes anyway. Have done since I was a kid & my dad used to take my brother & me to Heathrow & Gatwick to watch them taking of & landing. Not to mention al the air shows. But today was fascinating. How they can turn a 777 round in 40 minutes from getting folks off to getting folks on is amazing considering the size of the thing. They also have a problem with birds of prey that nest in the woods around the airfield. The reason being their's loads of gophers living in the grounds of the airport in the fields around the runways. So the hawks & kites & kestrels & falcons come to hunt them so the staff have to send out a car at certain times with a loud alarm to scare them away. It was really forking windy up there (the airport is on top of a hill) & we watched some planes coming in, struggling with the cross winds to straighten up before they landed. That was quite cool. The only downside was that I have caught a cold from standing out in the wind. But the tour was cool & the guide was hilarious. Although he knew his stuff. (except the 777 isn't the biggest airliner. The A380 is) *nerd mode off*
Well, I got invited to a fancy dress party next door next weekend. I can genuinely say, "I have nothing to wear." I might just go to a second hand shop & buy a massive jacket & go as that asshole from The Talking Heads

Too expensive. And why being dress like an asshole?
Buy a bandage roll and wear it on your face. The invisible man is always succesful. Everyone wants to know desperately who’s behind.

I'm going as a crime scene investigator. Costume cost the princely sum of 4 euro
Reconnected with a friend I saw TC w/ at MSG in June. We went out for Palestinian food on the Lower East side and then walked to Strand book store (8 miles of books). Got each of the books I was looking for in quick order: Gogol, Bowles, Bradbury, and Gaiman (Sandman Vol 1; have never read it before and Mr. has some subsequent volumes).
Day was weird. I went to my old workplace of 14 years ago, a large bank that rhymes with “pity moop”, in TriBeCa to meet a former colleague for lunch. I dressed as a normie so I wouldn’t embarrass her or call attention to her as we walked around the office and ate in the cafeteria. It seemed so strange to be back in that environment. The amount of conspicuous wealth in that area is mind boggling.
Exhausting but great. It's only 2:40 pm and I'm about to nap.
It's a school holiday today for Passover, so I took the mini replicant and their best friend on an adventure (best friend's parents both working today). Best friend came over at 8:00 a.m. and I made French toast for everyone. I then took the two of them to the neighborhood of DUMBO (Down Under Manhattan Bridge Overpass, not a flying elephant). We walked along the Brooklyn Bridge Park. It is a beautiful spring day.

There are amazing nature areas in Brooklyn Bridge Park. One of them is home to the LARGEST American bullfrogs I have EVER seen. I have a serious love of catching and holding frogs, so it was hard not to climb over the fence and try to get them. I would estimate them to be 7-8 inches long.
We stopped by the dumpling shop for lunch on the way home and now they are playing video games. Powering down, now.
Today was a darn sight better than yesterday. Had the hangover from hell after partying with next door so today was a breeze in comparison. Even managed to remember to get a new battery for another one of my watches.
A friend of many years came over so I could help her with her business plan. I love her and she has had an incredibly difficult life, but she has the most unstable professional life of anyone I've ever known. I even referred her once to my employer for a job and she got fired. I made her lunch and we walked in my neighborhood and got tea.
Quite productive. The garden's coming on. Need to get the 3m long spirit level out that someone left behind last year (but nobody seems to remember doing) to get it flat. The neighbour's sheep are in the house we made for them & seem to be happy mooching around eating stuff. & I have a tan. Not very goth, but never mind
Lots of heavy lifting. Akos from next door asked if I could help move a load of heavy furniture & appliances with him. Of course I said yes. These were possibly the heaviest wardrobes & cupboards I have ever come across. Bonus! They had to be moved from one place to another but up stairs!. Not to worry, we managed it.
