Hard work. Just replastered & painted the main wall & ceiling in the lounge as the guy who did it last year appeared to use silicon filler in places to fill cracks after I told him not to. So today's been all about getting all the dust from sanding cleaned up & putting furniture back. I also managed to frame & mount some old photos I took of sunset over Balaton
Time to get off my trotters now though. They are yelling at me.
Surreal. Had my first post COVID haircut today and was the first client back. There was a news team outside the place because the business owner has been very active in the local small business community since COVID and has been on the news a few times for COVID-interest segments. I was just like, "Er, all I want is to feel cooler, please leave me alone."
COVID testing, healthcare system gestapo techniques, and face shield/glove shopping at the pharmacy on the way home for potential work preparedness. Walked home in a thunderstorm and picked up the bus. A few beers in now, trying to sort it out.
This morning as my alarm went off, a cute spaniel jumped up next to me on my bed, put his big wet nose of my cheek, and then used his head to gently nudge me out of bed. To me, there’s really no better way to start off the morning. 🥰
I feel so accomplished today! I’ve managed to make a huge dent in a case I’m working on and now I’m way ahead of schedule! But the best part is, since I’m the only one in the office, I get to play my music as loudly as I’d like! 😀

Two projects done... Bought and revived a rusty old radiator cover.
We're not sure why or how this rescued mid-century mod table from curbside that was destined for a landfill works in our 1926 cottage Tudor, but it does! Needed dusting and a rub down from our homemade furniture polish and now it anchors a wall of photos from our European travels.
We knew the guy we hired to do some construction in one of our bathrooms and paint the apartment so we can list it was coming today, but we thought just to start the bathroom construction. But he showed up with a crew and they are starting painting today. While it was a few minutes of running around in circles trying to prepare, this means we are actually *ahead* of schedule, which is amazing.
Kid started five weeks of day camp today, too. We haven't been apart as a family for almost 4 months since quarantine started. I don't know what to do with myself it is awesome. Getting so much done.

Good news about the contractor, that’s actually pretty amazing?!
what will you do with all that free time ? I’d say something outdoors since you’ve been mostly cooped up for months
weedyburton79 That's impressive. Messy work too I'd bet
Yeah. The rust removal took about 12 hours and a lot of elbow grease over multiple weekends leading up to this past weekend when it was ready for paint. Looks amazing, though, and totally worth it to ensure we have a period appropriate cover.
My day has been better than that of the owner of this house.
I left my building this morning and saw what I thought was smoke from a fire. Lots of people outside. Then, miraculously the air started to clear. I proceeded down the street to find a house that looked like a doll's house someone had just cut one entire side off of. You could see the stairs from the first floor to the third floor clearly, just like someone could be walking right up them. Thank God the occupant was in the back yard at the time.
