It's always better to know the cause. Then one is able to cope with it in many ways. For you the most important is that knowing where the problem is the doctors can start to treat her. Still have strenght and much hope.
All my best to you both.
But I don't see And I don't feel But tightly hold up silently My hands before my fading eyes And in my eyes Your smile
I mistook stars reflected in a pond at night for those in the sky.

Just saw this. So sorry your family is going through this. Sounds like you're finally getting some answers and the right treatment. Good thoughts your way!
She had a surgery yesterday - got removed one of her ovaries. After that, when she was in the awakening phase, she was insane! Removed everything attached to her (oxygen, intravenousaccess and all that) she was violent and confused. Then they gave her a lot of pain killers and sedative medicine. She slept and when she woke up, she was back to whom she was before she became ill... strange!
Well she slept some hours last night. She haven’t slept the last two nights though.
This morning she got two seizures. First for one hour, and again - but “only” 10-15 mins.
After that, she has been sleeping, only awake for toilet, a little food and fortunately plenty og water.
She has been sleeping for 12 hours now...
I think it’s good for her to sleep. I think the seizures is very hard to her body, and she got exhausted, and I think her brain really needs rest!
I belive that she i recovering slowly! The litterature says that the tumor in her ovarie might be the one that causes the immune system to create the inflammation in her brain, and since the tumor is gone, there is no longer an accumulator to “kicking” the immune system.
In other words: by removing the tumor, we have made a short circuit.
But we must not forget that the brain still has an imflammation, but now the inflammation can be defeated and probably not maintain it’s existence.
So I really hope for a step in the direction of recovery.
ninja you have been so strong through this. hopefully this is first step on road to recovery for your daughter. you hang in there & know that there are many people pulling for you & your family.
Thanks for updating us when you have so much on your plate. I agree with you - sleep is probably so needed for her right now. All of this has been exhausting for everyone, I'm sure, and her body and brain have been through the wringer.
Hugs ninja. A relief to hear the surgery went well, now sending you my strength for the recovery. Your little one has a lot of people in her corner rooting for her health. xo
The tumor got analyzed, and I’m very glad to know, that the tumor was what we hoped it was: a teratome!
So, tomorrow she is going to a PET CT, and after that, I’m allowed to bring her home to spend the night. I’m so happy to get her home, and very terrified!!!
We still have the place at the hospital, so ig anything goes wrong, we can come back anytime!
I’m very thankful to live in Denmark. I don’t dare to calculate what 3 weeks hospital will cost in the US. But one thing is sure, I wouldn’t be able to feed her if I had to pay for hospital...

Yay! Happy for you and your family. You are lucky that Denmark's healthcare system is good and accessible. Families can go bankrupt in the US for less time in the hospital, ironically even if they have health insurance. Aggravating politics aside, I'm so glad it sounds like your girl has been having attentive care these past weeks. And lucky for her, she has the world's best nurse as her mother.
