Star Wars BEWARE SPOILER ALERTS NOW AHEAD

Yes, is Fin and not BB8 (wich is ridiculous since Fin was in charge of...er... cleaning duties at the Star Killer) but ultimately, there's yet another fight against the ultimate weapon wich is -oh, surprise- another Death Star, just bigger. And they blow it in a matter of minutes, a whole planet! Really, not very much improvement here.

The similarities goes further: New emperor alike character (where this 'guy' come from? Lord of the Rings?), new apprentice alike character as Vader -ok, he is not fully trained, so what?- new cantina!!! Oh man... that's really bad... The same old X-wings and TIE fighters (are this naziesque First Order copying old designs from the defeated empire 40 years later? really?) And by the way, the First Order should be the rebels (sorry, resistance) this time because we all know the Empire was defeated and the Republic was restored in the Galaxy. So, what has happened in those forty years? 

I find the first appearance of Han Solo and Chewbacca in the Falcon very dissapointing, in the vast confins of the galaxy they find the Falcon just after the ship is reused from a X-years hiatus where it's been abandoned in a dusty planet. But in no time, Bingo! they find it in Falcon's first flight! Very poor writing.

Kylo Renn is not scary, looks like a lousy emo-core band guy to me, there's no way this brat can be Han Solo's son! And, OK, he is not fully trained, but clumsy Fin manages to fight with him with almost no harm and then comes Rey and defeates him ¿? I know, Rey's got the force, but she's doesn't even know! Speaking of Rey... she doesn't look like a scavenger to me... Disney scavenger, maybe.

I could go on and on... but as you said, looks like a Star Wars Disney karaoke.

Hahhah haters gonna hate.

Well of course there's going to be another ultimate weapon. In Ep VI it was another death star, don't hear anyone complaining about that though do we?  In the EU (now non-canon) they had a few ultimate weapons - World Devastators, The Galaxy Gun and another one that I can't remember - maybe it was a battle station maybe not. Whatever they are, there have always been giant weapons that the Empire, and also now the first order, uses to threaten the galaxy. Troops and an Imperial Navy are clearly not enough to basically threaten an entire galaxy.  

Finn may have been in sanitation but he still was a fully trained StormTrooper - that is evident in the fight scenes where he's physically able to fight or run or take any action. And being in the sanitation section gave him access to the right part of the station. Perfect.... 

They blew up Starkiller base "easily" because the Resistance fighters were able to get in through the holes created by Han and Chewbacca's explosions - from the inside. Once inside, there would be no need for bracing or reinforcing or shielding so of course the containment units that held all that energy inside the planet, were blown to smithereens the planet exploded. Remember that Starkiller base pulled energy from a sun into the core of the planet. 

As for Snoke, did we know where the Emperor came from when watching Episode IV? No, we did not. Nor did we know anything about Darth Vader. Did you hear the music playing whilst Snoke was on screen? Same or similar to that when Paply was talking to Ani about Darth Plaguis..... questions.....

The Resistance uses X-wings (which are updated from the Empire era if you take a good look) but these are still old technology, the reason being that The Resistance is a pocket group within the New Republic (or whatever it's called) that was scrounged together by General Leia - they don't have a ton of credits for fancy new gear. The First Order uses new and improved Tie Fighters, maybe because they're good for what they do and if there were new ships that didn't remind us of the Empire, people would be complaining about that too ahaha..

There's no way that The First Order, being a faction of the Empire, would call itself "The Rebellion". To do so would admit they were not a part of what they see as the bigger, righteous force. 

As for what's happened for the last 30 or 40 years, I'm sure we'll be caught up by episodes 8 & 9. Episode 4 didn't exactly spell out intricate details of what happened between itself and Ep 3 did it?

Had Han and Chewbacca been on the other side of the galaxy when the Falcon's homing beacon gone off, they would've just arrived at the Falcon when it was all too late.. The Falcon being flown by Rey was cool..

When Kylo fought Finn, Kylo had been shot by a bowcaster bolt - the same bolt that takes out four or five stormtroopers so yeah it's a bit of a stretch that Finn could hold his own for a while but Kylo was in a lot of pain and possibly this distracted him. Would you prefer that Kylo killed Finn in one second?

Rey's use of the force was nascent at best, her fight with Kylo was at the beginning, raw slashing and anger but later once she accessed The Force you could see she was "in the zone" and got lucky. See she just ran away at the end? 

I'm sure you could argue endlessly as to why the movie sucked and how it was terrible, so I doubt any of my comments will change your mind. Anyway, it's sad you didn't enjoy the movie, and likely won't enjoy 8 & 9 but I can't wait to see it in the theater again and to buy the DVD!

My main complaint was that the movie felt a bit rushed.. Which is probably another way of saying "action packed". Maybe it should've been three hours instead of two! 

Nausearockpig, sorry if I have been harsh or disrespectful. I just enjoy arguing.

The important thing here is we both enjoy Cure records. Star Wars is fun. Cure is essential.

Couple of notes/ theories:
On Finn's sabre skills, it could be he also has the force, but doesn't know it fully...yet. But remember when Luke first picked up a sabre? Took him about 2 goes to be able to hit those remote thingies with a blast visor on, so it's feasible Finn could hold his own for a bit.
On Rey. Luke's sabre "called out to her". Could it be that Luke's "remote piloting" the weapon from Craggy Island? Or was she able to absorb a good zapping of force when Kylo was trying to interrogate her?
That the ship designs are almost identical lends itself to keeping the identity of the franchise. Let's face it, they were pretty iconic.
As for the Falcon, I still think it's the coolest ship in the whole SW universe. So what if it looks like 2 dustbin lids stuck together with a satellite TV dish on top? It just wouldn't be Star Wars without it would it?
The original films were meticulous about having a universe that was a bit "bashed up" & "worn". Home-made even (C3PO for example). That was such a refreshing departure from sci fi featuring gleaming vessels that looked as if they'd just rolled out of the show room & I think the X-wings carried that sort of feel in TFA.
Certainly it was made for the fans. I think Abrams took on board all the criticism of the prequels & endless tinkering with the original trilogy & dropped all those notions into one of those garbage crushers from episode IV. He realised the Anakin/ Vader chapter was pretty well closed & looked to start new discussion, theorising & general debate with TFA. It seems to have worked too
I think it was a bold step to dump the existing SW universe/ canon, but it paid off largely. Yes, there are plot holes, but then (as a few of us have pointed out already) there were plot holes in episode IV big enough to fly a star destroyer through.
I won't be buying this on DVD though.
Blu Ray, on the other hand....

Yeah, BB8 is a great piece of design. Best one of the movie, in my opinion. It makes sense as an evolution from slow and clumsy R2-D2 droids.
