Pipperoo I actually liked BB8 a lot more than I though I would. I was so hoping he/she/ it wouldn't be an annoying character on the level of C3PO, who I could have happily beaten to scrap with one of his own arms from time to time. I especially loved the scene where Rey & BB8 go down those steps. The clonking sound he made on each step was spot on. Not too over stated & yet chuckle worthy without being distracting
I love him! More than R2 I'm sorry. I know that is blasphemy but...he's just so darn cute and he is very agile for a little ball! The steps scene was an amazing moment! Yes!! hahahaha
So changing the subject slightly, did you know Kenny Baker doesn't play R2-D2 any more?
I knew that he didn't like Anthony Daniels but I didn' realise he didn't actually play the part any more.
I had read that somewhere. But it really didn't make much difference I think Didn't Baker only do the R2 scenes where he was stationary anyway?
R2 is a droid, not stationary!
Seemingly it was more of a feud rather than general dislike, which is a shame. I suppose when you're playing a glorified dustbin you don't really need to be a RADA actor

Quite right. & when you're disney, you can call on Rhino to do the honours for BB8
The original films were meticulous about having a universe that was a bit "bashed up" & "worn". Home-made even (C3PO for example). That was such a refreshing departure from sci fi featuring gleaming vessels that looked as if they'd just rolled out of the show room & I think the X-wings carried that sort of feel in TFA.
Yes, and still, there she is, in the middle of this dusty worn place. The beautiful and immaculate lonely scavenger that looks like a model with the best dentist in planet.
Sorry, I couldn't help it. I'll shut up now, I promise.

Funny that, because Luke also spent his youth on a dusty planet, scavenging bits (for the farm).
The one thing that has annoyed me about the new film is that the facts and story lines in the spin-off books are no longer considered facts. The whole point of the spin-off books was that each author had to have their storyline approved so that it worked with not only the film plots but also the other books by other authors. So for example, in one book, we learn how Han met Chewie. Now under Disney, that story is no longer relevent! Very frustrating for those of us that are reading all the books!

Yep, that's got a lot of folks riled. When disney said they'd basically torpedo the whole SW universe & canon, everyone went berserk.
It's always the same story with Star Wars - Light vs Dark. That's the whole thing about it. The constant fight...
Granted they're non-canon now, but before Disney bought the franchise, there were hundreds of comics and books spanning thousands of years before, and hundreds of years after ANH all pretty much working to the same formula...
Whatever man, each to their own.
Nausearockpig, sorry if I have been harsh or disrespectful. I just enjoy arguing.
The important thing here is we both enjoy Cure records. Star Wars is fun. Cure is essential.
No sweat, like I said, each to their own. I really didn't expect to change your opinion with mine.

I also am annoyed but the change of all the EU to "Legends", but I get why they did it. If you take all the pre ANH stuff as canon (as was the case before Disney) that means all the post ROJ stuff is canon too (which it was) then Star Wars: Legacy happened and that conflicts with the Disney view.. I seriously think they put it all in the too-hard basket and just went with the movies and books & comics since Disney as the new starting point. I get it from an "ease of story telling" point of view.. I don't like it but I get it..
