Redemption like no other after the previous episode! Love Vader's moments, liked the Third Sister twist, the battles were exciting. Honestly, liked everything about this episode except that they didn't de-age Hayden for his scenes. He looked sooooo old.
I wouldn't call the series an unqualified success, but episodes 3 and 5 were really some of the best episodes of SW we've seen. Very curious how they'll wrap this up next episode!
I reckon: They fight Vader wins but he finds out about Luke but that little slither of good in him spares Kenobi and Luke on the basis that he never sees Obi Wan ever again. Cos he saved Luke and Padme when the Emperor just lied to him.
Re Vader finding out about Luke: Unless the show re-retcons the currently established storyline in the Marvel comics where (if I remember correctly), Boba Fett discovers (and notifies Vader) that it's someone with the name of Skywalker that fired the shot which destroyed the first Death Star, leading Vader to discover he has a son, I doubt it. BUT that is a F great theory!!

Yeah boi!
“Hello there.” Hahahahaha
I liked that episode a lot, and I’m glad the duel was where it was in the episode and I liked how it ended.
I think it was a good finish to the series.
I’m gonna enjoy binging it in a day in a few months’ time.
A couple of missed opportunities: 1) when obi was in the pit, Vader should have said “Now I have the high ground!”, 2) Obi hacking off another coupla limbs, not out of spite as his character in the duel scene, was mournful, not spiteful, but just as a part of the duel would have been sweet. Leaving crispy all stumpy and having to crawl back to his shuttle would have been a good shot, 3) seeing more than just hints of the coming alliance/rebellion..

Did they have storm troopers manning the cannons on the star destroyer? Could have done without the cheesy speech from Kenobi to Leia & the pointless Qui-Gon apparition. There's also a deleted scene
It was OK but felt like a missed opportunity overall, deserved more character building. The duel was OK but the rock throwing was far too epic and over the top. You only need a single rock to the head to do damage, they don't need to be moving whole mountains. The overheard shots weren't great either. Should have been a fight with an objective rather than "I suppose we should fight, its what everyone's waiting for".

The objective of the fight was there, from two perspectives.
1) It was used to clarify the line Vader said when he met Old Ben in Ep IV about how he was the learner before, but now is the master. That was a real head-scratcher, until Ep III when we saw him go all crispy, but nay, Ol' Georgie Boy and The HouseofMouse had more stories to tell...
2) From the storyline perspective, Obi-Wan said two things that led to the duel. Firstly, he was using himself as bait to give the ship full time to get away (surely though they could have dispatched a couple of TIEs or other ships to get the escapees back, but you know, plot-hole!), and secondly he was trying to speak to Qui-Gon saying how he had to end the thing between the two of them.
I doubt one rock would have done the trick, he was pummeling the hell outta Vader.
Bummer you didn't enjoy it as much though. I know how annoying it is when you get some SW content and it's just MEH.. I'm looking at you Book of Boba Fett!!

It was ok, just could have been more - I would put Filoni in charge of everything, he gets it 100%.
Besides, it's not just tv - it's Star Wars! The 5 year old me still demands a higher standard
Honestly, haven’t been this excited for a SW movie/show in a long, long time. This just looks good!
Fingers-crossed.
Did you not enjoy Obi-Wan at all?
I absolutely did! Episodes 1 and 2 were good at setting up the story, and episodes 3 and 5 were some of the best SW storytelling we've seen in recent years. Episode 4 of the show, on the other hand... well, I did not like that.

Happy Days! One thing I think they could've done better in the Obi-Wan vs Vader duel of the finale was have Obi leave under different circumstances. Perhaps being forced to make a choice of finishing off Vader or to go to save someone from something. Leaving Vader wounded and saying "Oh my buddy SkyGuy is dead then" and waltzing off which allows Vader to recover and go on to be a mass-murderer is a bit naff.
Yes, yes, Obi wouldn't know that Vader would be on the Death Star at Alderaan, but he's seen first-hand the lengths that Vader went to, just to draw him out, and he knows that Palpy is evil AF, and can probably guess the lengths that Vader would go to, so that plot-hole stank a bit, in my humble opinion.
We all know he couldn't kill Vader here and now, otherwise no meeting in ANH, but c'mon.....
