Okay so technically, this photo was taken during a paddle and not a walk, but I thought I’d share it anyway. Check out the smoke from the forest fire; the scene was beautifully disturbing.
Went out with Mr. K last night on a date in Manhattan. Our first time going there for fun, and not for errands or medical appointments, since before the pandemic. It felt kind of weird to me. It is definitely the "hot vax summer", with tons of 20-somethings running around wearing next to nothing.
Walking from dinner in SoHo to dessert on the LES, we passed this burned out church, which was destroyed in December 2020. Thought it looked really cool in the midst of all the revelry.
When I walked to the garden center today, I passed what looked like a porch or deck smashed all over the sidewalk, along with some broken shrubs, etc. It kind of looked like a strong storm had taken it all out. As I passed it, I then could tell a car had driven up onto the sidewalk, through some bushes, and taken out a porch. Check out the sign in the backround. Someone took it a bit too literally.
I was walking from work to the hippie grocery store yesterday in Brooklyn and came across this procession. It's an old Italian neighborhood. I can't find any reference as to what the event actually was...

Godfather part II came to my mind. The Don Fannucci murder scene.

I mean, my husband is 1/2 Italian American, so I don't like to stereotype, but yes, you can sometimes see "businessmen" in the neighborhood, if you get my drift.

Yes, I know what you mean. I wasn't thinking in the 'businessmen' and the stereotypes, but in the Italian folklore of the San Gennaro and the like processions, wich are portrayed in the film and are also very familiar to me, as it happens in Spain very much like the Italian ones.
This is my usual walk I do with my dog in the evening time. Last night as I was walking I could see a stag at the end of this path, peeking out of the trees looking right at me. I didn't go any further because I didn't want to scare him, an amazing sight to see.
Then the heat disappears and the mirage fades away.
Not really a walk but just a morning outing for some breadstuff. It's still green everywhere but the autumn is coming. The fence is changing, beautifully let me add.
But I don't see And I don't feel But tightly hold up silently My hands before my fading eyes And in my eyes Your smile
I mistook stars reflected in a pond at night for those in the sky.
