The other day I took an elderly neighbour to see a specialist down near the lake & went for a walk there. Apart from some seagulls & ducks it was pretty deserted. But it was bl00dy freezing.
Took a long walk in the cemetery yesterday for the first time since we moved next to it. Note the last name on the beautiful art deco monument. Also found a "new to me" pond with some beehives I hadn't seen before.
Went to Prospect Park today with the progeny to do "squirrel observations." It was cold as can be, and windy, so we saw exactly one squirrel. But we did find a little stick structure with a wreath and "hearth" inside. And we also used these fallen trees as a highway to complete 12 "nature challenges."
Took my elderly friend to have his checkup (he knacked his achilles & had to have one of those cybermen boots fitted) While I was waiting I had a wander down to the lake again. Lovely sunny day but bitterly cold wind
Our subways are so busted. Nothing like a pile of human c@rp and a tall boy of Coors Light at 9:00 a.m.
That station is in need of deep clean. Do they ever pressure wash them ?
Lol, supposedly. They have shut the system down from 1:00 a.m. - 5:00 a.m. nightly since early in the pandemic to deep clean, but I think that has more to do with the actual subway cars than the stations.
These were just taken during our weekly romp through a specific park. I wish I had taken a better photo of the prairie dog, but the little bastards are just too fast.
steve - you are very fortunate to live in such a beautiful place. If I lived in a place like that, , I’d probably spend most of my time outdoors, likely on or adjacent to the lake. You are indeed a lucky duck!

What a walk! Saw several deer (not dear, which would be nice though!) , peacocks, heard the wolves howling from the zoo, and he even saw a few ducklings! What a fun morning! Only managed to snap a few photos though
