I walked to the gym this morning before work (hello, sub-zero weather!) and there was nobody else out on the street. No cars, no people (grinding halt!). I love it when the streets here are deserted. It feels like a post apocalyptic world. It's the only time I feel really alone in this crowded place.
I saw this and it seemed to perfectly capture the "morning after" feeling...
ghosttown I took the pic in the early fall, I think. It’s very cold here now-1 F as I speak. So stay where you are, much warmer I’m sure!
sang 1F?! Okay, that is cold indeed... Do you still go out for walks? And is there snow? I love heat, but I can also enjoy the cold--though only if there is snow... Where did you say you live, Alaska?

I live in the hometown of HAL 9000 I don’t walk this winter, I run from door to door.
I´ve been actually checking this thread regularly. It was one fantastic idea of yours!
are we sure this is nyc? i don't see any rats.... i kid, i kid!
It's funny you should say that. Just one, short block away is a very small park. When you sit there in the middle of the day, members of a *giant* colony of rats living in the brick holes of a low wall just come out all over the park. Even with DOGS right there. It's pretty intense how many there are just in broad daylight. We have a serious problem. Save
It´s absolutely true! I don´t have a camera right now, stupid enough... But if I ever happen to take a shot of something amazing I encountered on a walk again, I´ll show you, too, promise!
ghosttown, do you have a camera on your phone? I don't have a "real" camera either, although sometimes I borrow one. All of these pics were just taken with my phone.
Bad glare on this from light, but late night walk from husband's work party to the subway... Cropping issues using Google photos, so not sure this will work properly.

notkristie--wow, your phone must be of great quality. The photos look as if taken with a professional camera. You know, I don´t own a cellphone myself. I don´t think I need one! I mean, I´ve got a ´normal´ phone and when I record songs I do that on my laptop. As for taking pictures, I regularly get these cameras with one film in it on which you can put 27 or so photos, and then you give the camera back to the store where you got it and they take a week to develop the pictures and then you can get them. The camera is then recycled.
