I haven't read all the rules about the community, but I must say that I don't see the point in censoring the F word, since it was printed out in the original album, sung by Robert every time and also I don't think there are children around who can read this anyway. One thing is somebody or everybody writing swearing words all the time and being disrespectful like we were hip hop fans (ya feel me, mothafucka?) :-)
and another thing is not being true to the word of the artist (****ing waste could mean sinking waste, dripping waste, anything...)
I mean, calling someone "three sick holes that run like sores" is far more offensive than "a ****ing waste"
so, having said that, I must say that there is a mistake: it should be "a slug on the floor".
You are correct about the mistake and it has been changed. Although the F word does not offend me it might offend others and since this a community we try to make sure everyone is kept in mind while running this forum. Thanks for the heads up! Good spot!
Then the people who might be offended... what do they do when they listen to this song? Cover their ears? Or when they read the booklet...? People shouldn't use swearing when posting, I agree with that, but altering the original words of the artist is another thing...
It's just an opinion, because I don't think any cure fan would feel offended, or else they wouldn't listen to the cure! Would it be possible to find a fan who really would feel offended? Let's begin the search... Hands up!
I think you have to understand that this particular board on the forum is publicly visible. Also, the swear filter is working across the whole forum & although there are a good many who use a colourful vocabulary, The filter keeps it to a minimum & exercises people's ability to stretch their vocabulary a bit too so as not to come across as dimbulbs whose every second word is fudge
I understand. Unfortunately the filter doesn't discriminate the lyrics from people typing. Anyway, let's use ****, we know what it means... It's me, who has never run a www, therefore I don't consider all the things that should be considered. Bear with me.
An example, my kids often see me doing "Admin" on the forum and may read much of what I do but they don't listen to the cure and they don't listen to Shiver and Shake.
Despite it has no reference to lol, I also think it is dedicated to him. His standing in the band was rapidly decreasing at that time. Two years later on disintegration he's only credited for playing the 'other instrument'. All said with that …

I read not that it was dedicated to, or written about Lol, but that he was on the other side of the glass when Robert was doing the tracks - to inspire him.... wowoowowow
If you have a lead on Brisbane 21 August 1992 - CT version, for the love of Bob, let me know. Please!
