chuckrh thank you so much for sharing your experience! So happy that the Cure can deliver such a different set list and performance so we fans really get a lot out of seeing them multiple times!! Rest up, man, and hope the best for your health, and another Cure tour in the future
I just figured this out. Over 2 shows, I saw 66 performances. 45 different titles. That's pretty amazing!

Thank you, Chuck, for mentioning both guitarists. Robert and Reeves are so good, each in his own ways, emphasis on the plural *ways*, that the band becomes orchestral --with the two guitars, the range of instruments Roger's keyboard portrays, Simon also often playing melodic lines and Jason's drums adding to the pitch, timbre and and color palettes.
Robert does more solo moments (the melodic and the weird) than many people think. And Reeves plays such a range of parts with varying instruments, effects, sounds (gutsy to gorgeous) and emotions (grieving, sighing, keening, laughing, screaming...). I especially appreciate how attuned Reeves is to Robert's singing, with which he never competes, only complements, responds or supports. What a band.

Reeves was absolutely on fire & so was Robert when he did solos. Some highlights for me were Edge of the Deep Green Sea, the Pornography stuff & Charlotte Sometimes. I love that song & it was very pretty. ..."
I remember reading an interview with Reeves quite recently, where he said his job was to "support Robert as a vocalist" and you've described that really nicely here Also, he always comes across as a really grounded and nice bloke in interviews.
Amazing setlist, but... Freakshow? seriously ? What is the reason why they play that song? If they have hundreds of better songs. Sometimes I think that Robert enjoys annoy his fans, so he does.

I was already a huge Reeves fan before he joined the Cure. I was so excited when he signed on. I had seen him several times with Bowie & Tin Machine. I believe that as he & Robert were friends first, before he joined the band, this will be a long term thing. Can't wait for them to put out a record. I really luv this lineup & they are working superbly as a unit. Maybe it took a little while to mesh but it is really flowering on this tour.
I'm in the middle. 'Freakshow' is not a bad song (at least, not the worst from 4:13) but agree with culthero that they have thousand of better songs. I guess that Robert have to justify their latest albums. Not playing any song from them will be like admit that they are bad records.

Very true, but in a pop encore scenario, given the choice between The Lovecats or Freakshow, I think I know which I would go for. (just my opinion) It's an odd song really. When it first appeared on the 4Tour it was awful. It was flat, lifeless & sounded almost as if it wasn't quite finished. Not sure what happened, but once it got to the States, it had transformed into this wonderfully whacky tune with a real groove to it.
Yep is groovy and catchy, I don't dislike it, The bassline has a certain feeling of some old cure vibe wich I like. Besides, I'm sure Bob likes it, I guess he may think that the latest records are not that bad at all. At least some songs of them. I prefer 'Freakshow' rather than 'The Hungry Ghost', 'Sleep When I'm Dead', TEOTW, 'I don't know whats going (on)' or the awful 'Us or Them'.

Didn't it top the American Billboard Charts?! All four 4.13 singles did, all four were in the top twenty at the same time.
