Just skimmed through the thread. Great read & super chit chat once again. Thanks everyone for giving me something worthy as an accompaniment to read while I guzzle my first coffee

I went off to study and missed half of the set today, it's great coming back on and seeing what they played! I love that there was a few darker songs and a huge thanks to everyone who was posting and perescoping Looking forward to more darker songs possibly!
I think they are soundchecking The Figurehead and Pornography - but not actually playing them out - to make sure they've got it absolutely right ready for the first gig I go to! 3 weeks to go!!!
Just shaking the cobwebs out after the show & 2.5 hour + drive home. The last half hour or so of the drive was pushing it. I hate it when you're driving & so tired that you can't remember exactly where you are! On to the show. First, I saw Twilight Sad this time & they were very good. If you can, check them out when you go to the show. Now the main course: this was an amazing show to be at. I got a very different set from the one I saw in Vegas. Many songs different. Even though this one was lighter on Disintegration, I would have to say this set was better & the band played even better. I did get a ripping Fascination Street last night though. Starting the set with Shake Dog Shake was cool & set the energy level high. After that I started to think we were going to get a hits centric set for a few songs, which is ok but of course wanted more. Then the set took some violent left turns as it went along. Robert talked a lot more than he did in Vegas. I'm a little hard of hearing & can't always understand what he says over the PA. Would be ok in person. Evidently, he hadn't played in the Portland area in 20 years & made several references to that. Maybe explains the pretty even spread over the whole career. The flow of songs was really good. Kind of weird venue. Its on fairgrounds & is an older shed. The reserved seats are covered with a metal roof & the rest is concrete with an uncovered lawn behind. Looking at it you would think sound wouldn't be good. Happily that was not the case! They have a manly PA & the sound was stellar & very loud. My ears are still ringing. Reeves was absolutely on fire & so was Robert when he did solos. Some highlights for me were Edge of the Deep Green Sea, the Pornography stuff & Charlotte Sometimes. I love that song & it was very pretty. I totally called that one before the show. I missed on The Kiss but I'm not complaining. I am so glad I decided to go. I am paying the piper today though. Fortunately, I have nothing more compelling than attending a bbq today. & it is late enough where I can get a bit more sleep beforehand. I don't think I'm going to be able to see any more shows this tour due to finances & health. I do hope they tour again soon. Perhaps promoting a new record? & hope they actually play in Seattle next time!
chuckrh thank you so much for sharing your experience! So happy that the Cure can deliver such a different set list and performance so we fans really get a lot out of seeing them multiple times!! Rest up, man, and hope the best for your health, and another Cure tour in the future

Also, was cool to get the full light & video show this time. Didn't get that in Vegas. I was way off to the side in Vegas & even though it was a bit farther away I had a more straight on view this time. Sometimes being a bit farther back helps get the full impact of the visual presentation. They definitely had some very cool effects.
